Based on reported figures that might buy something like 1/5th of a Jefferson?Yeah $365 a year by 1000 fans probably has zero impact.

Oh I've got moneysIf you had money. Remember, I have your bank account info.
You paid that money to get an education.Anybody who went to ISU already gave 10s of thousands to make Cyclones a huge brand. That’s the only reason these players are making 200k-1 million instead of 50 k like some minor league player who has similar or better skills.

But it would alleviate some of the constant pressure on the top end donors.Based on reported figures that might buy something like 1/5th of a Jefferson?
We will agree to disagree. The Cyclone sports brand would be less valuable than Des Moines Dragons if I and others like me had not. Fact.
(this is all major college sports, obviously not calling out ISU specifically)
CW: Never fear, TJ is da man.williams and blum will be interesting tonight.
We will agree to disagree.

It was rumored we offered in the range of 1.5-2mil.Blum said it wasn’t really a money issue there, so I’m guessing we offered close to that probably
Or BeamThat’s an expensive 1/5th. I’ll stick to Jack or Crown.
Get out of here with these kinds of ******** post. Will he break LSU hearts with butter fingers when the game is on the line?
Don't pretend they would have been any different. They may have loved their time in Ames but they would have bolted for top $ too. People in this forum love ISU more than 95% of the players that play here. Most of the aren't from anywhere near here, and they came to play for a coach and not the university or it's fans. Fond memories of a place aren't the same as absolute loyalty.I think Hali and Niang would stay in Ames. They still talk about ISU/Ames to this day. Heck, Hali just named his dog Ames

Get real. "Fred Hoiberg would never leave ISU either. He loves it here." You aren't ******* serious? Keep telling yourself these lies.(Comment directed at delusional fans.)If two year contracts became the norm let’s evaluate…
Player like Haliburton:
- Should have been a top ten recruit but sometimes recruiting rankings are insanely dumb
- Obviously proved very high end potential in year one but not quite physically strong enough to be a first round pick yet, late second round potential though
- Obvious first round pick in year two of cbb
- ISU benefits by recruiting the massive recruiting ranking error and only his injury minimizes the positive impact at ISU
Player like Niang:
- Quickly proved himself as a college stud player but also the kind who would never leave early.
- At end of year two everybody would have wanted him but he’s a Cyclone by then.
- He’s chosing the most ISU can give him vs more money
- If he does go one other team gets him and ISU got two highly productive years
They don’t need to be 3-5 year contracts, just getting a player for two years adds massive stability while still giving players tons of options. If other teams buy out the 2 year contracts the program or collective still benefits more than they do now, mid major programs would be getting something at least.
Some people just want to see destruction so they can have something else in their life to complain about. Will he break LSU hearts with butter fingers when the game is on the line?
This thread is too long! I don't see a valid cite that this is a thing. Anyone have one?
The only thing I find is a Sports Illustrated link that admits it is just rumor.
