What are the chances that Ashley uses her Covid year and comes back next year? The team is GREAT, she is having a fabulous year and you hear how connected the team is. The latest mock draft I saw did not have her in the first round of the WNBA draft so making a team could be tough. I thought I heard she has some class work to finish up to graduate so going over seas next year would be a challenge. We have seen other players announcing that they are returning (Lee @KSU, Prince @ Oregon, Cinziano @ UI are a few) so would Ash decide to do the same. Maybe a "One More Year" chant from the students on Sat to show she is loved.

From estimation, it often does not end up being super successful for players to go for that 5th year if they have options such as overseas play or luck with WNBA.

I'd be surprised if she is back for 2023, but not shocked if does.

What is Jadda Buckley up to?

Not exactly sure.

Money is not big in the pros for women. Very few can call the WNBA their career and retire from that.

Not even close to an apples and oranges comparison.
Player with multiple injuries in her history and no professional options choosing to not come back is much different from Ashley has ahead

She was also engaged, had a massive drama situation while at ISU and other stuff. Jada had many other things to consider.

Lee @ KSU needs another year to finish her masters program. Besides, with her knee, every game is a gift. She would be delusional to plan a long pro career.

I see Ashley’s path for success at the next level being following the George Niang script. You are going to be at a size and athletic disadvantage so you need to become a knock down spot up 3 point shooter.

I ate at Joensy's recently and told Ashley's mom, Lisa, that selfishly I hoped that she would come back for a year five but wanted her to do what is best for her as she has earned it! I don't think her mom knows what she'll do!

Exactly correct, I was pointing out the contrasting situation. Buckley didn't return and she doesn't appear to be close to the program or publicly active otherwise. I would be curious how her career is going.

I'm sure she is doing well. Successful and driven people generally do well in whatever arena they land in

Coach Fen has talked to her about her options including what it would mean if she came back for that fifth year. IF this team makes a run in the tourney and she feels they could vie for a final four spot next year…that might be tempting.

Not sure what mock your looking at but I've seen 2 mocks with her in the first round. 1 she was number 8 and number 4 in another.
