5. The kids playing high school football in Nebraska were in 1st and 2nd grade the last time Nebraska won a bowl game. They've only had two winning seasons in the last decade. The program is a shell of its former self, not just on the field but the fans just aren't as locked in as they once were. It was a religion in the state in the 70's, 80's, 90's and even 00's. They still support the team but it's nothing like it was. These kids just aren't indoctrinated like they were a few decades ago.A couple theories I have on this are
1. Waters ties to the Omaha area
2. Nebraska hasn't recruited locally well for a long time
3. His teammate and WR is already committed to us
4. Local kids realize how insufferable Nebby fans can be
Some/Most of what Rhule was saying makes sense but his top 20 program stuff was ridiculous.
