Way up there
A couple theories I have on this are

1. Waters ties to the Omaha area
2. Nebraska hasn't recruited locally well for a long time
3. His teammate and WR is already committed to us
4. Local kids realize how insufferable Nebby fans can be
5. The kids playing high school football in Nebraska were in 1st and 2nd grade the last time Nebraska won a bowl game. They've only had two winning seasons in the last decade. The program is a shell of its former self, not just on the field but the fans just aren't as locked in as they once were. It was a religion in the state in the 70's, 80's, 90's and even 00's. They still support the team but it's nothing like it was. These kids just aren't indoctrinated like they were a few decades ago.

Some/Most of what Rhule was saying makes sense but his top 20 program stuff was ridiculous.

Rhule thinks that he can recruit nationally and then come back to the Nebraska kids at the end to fill his openings. He is finding out that relationships matter and the kids aren’t in awe of him or his mediocre program.

CMC and staff have always offered a lot of kids early. If they believe you can play at this level you get an offer. They trust their evaluations.

Cripes. After a decade, have we not learned a basic fact? Campbell and his staff know so, so much more than we do. Who the hell are you so ignorant; uneducated people who keep runningyour mouths in a way that appears useless?

So, here's the deal, imho as a basic Cyclone fan. If you believe you know more than the combined decades of experience of our football staff, step up. State your credentials. Tell us why you believe your knowledge is better than ours?

Put up or shut up. It is that simple.

Yes, but most parents don't agree. Growing up in the area and friends who grew up with season tickets but ended up at ISU. It's a different world

This staff is really making Nebby their b****

It would be a lot more impressive if Nebby had offered any of these guys. They really don’t recruit home state much as the state typically doesn’t turn out many players. Only a couple of them have much for offers.

By the gods, I wish we all could get past the point where we consider a contrary point of view as evil spawned by the Devil.

I don't agree with you, so what? You don't agree with me, what does it matter? By the gods. . . . .

An example: One person's proclaimed reality is not fact, nor is the counter opinion from the other a fact.

It is opinion. Which means it is subjective. In this case, the contentions cannot be proved without time.

Jesus, Mother and Joseph, the personal attacks here - I don't think you people understand this - undermine your arguments. Logic, rationaltity applied to argument over a contention is worthwhile. Personal invective as a means of counterattack is worthless.

But, what do I know. Nothing. Nevermind.
And both views can be correct. We can be excited to land a 4* QB. Will he play meaningful football at ISU? Nobody here can say for sure. I didn’t know Rocco or Purdy would be stars when they first announced they committed to ISU

For now though, it’s nice to just celebrate ISU staff has landed ANOTHER very talented QB. Always been a fan of having as much talent as possible at any position. This commitment certainly helps in that regard, even if he never sees the field at ISU

Jett is the 16th ranked qb in the country in his class, and the other five Nebraska recruits are all in the top 100 in the country at their positions. They may not be 4 star recruits, but they are certainly quality athletes that can contribute at ISU.

Nebraska likely will offer them at some point. And feel good about getting them(not saying they will be able to flip them). They are putting their resources out to other guys and think they can easily land kids they assume dream of playing for Nebraska.

This 100%. Rhule is so arrogant he thinks he can out recruit Ohio State, Michigan and Penn State nationally. Then, if he whiffs, he wants those good ol' Nebraska boys ready to slurp the long past glory days. They are sending a loud message that his approach is disrespectful and sucks ass.

And yet he doesn't understand their own history of offering 3* Nebraska kids that developed into studs after 2-3 years on roids.

But he didn't offer them, how can he be pissed? I think we are missing the fact that all our Nebby commits were not offered by NU. I don't care, I trust CMC and staff's evaluations. Don't care about Ruhle and his approach to recruiting. If he's all f--ked up, good for us!
Not yet anyway..agreed.

Jones and Jensen have Nebraska offers and there’s a damn good chance we can land both.

I have no idea why they haven’t offered Burbach. Kid has quite a few P4 offers

Whatever you need to tell yourself to feel better. This isn't a knock on ISU, Campbell, or anything else. It's just the reality of college sports in 2025. Its probably 50/50 at best he's going to be at ISU in 2 years. Because of Rocco and Purdy? God forbid they have some competition. How the **** does anyone get excited about commits anymore? Especially at skill positions

I still don’t get it. This football program is FULL of guys that have played 4 years. THAT IS WHY THEY HAVE BEEN SUCCESSFUL.

Purdy and Rocco did have competition. They beat that competition out.

In his media session yesterday, he basically belittles Iowa State's recruiting style and playing in the Big 10 over Big 12.

Oh wow, that is really rich. "We're gonna carry ourselves like a top 20 team.". That's funny because Iowa State was the top 20 team all last year and Nebraska wasn't.

The guy made his career coaching in the Big 12, but now he disses the league.

Agreed.

And if a member of a different fan board was posting the same type of thing as you on their own board, objectively the people dumbing your post would agree too.

Not sure why it’s so hard for people to see things objectively.

“We’Re OwNiNg NeBrasKa” uhhh nope, they didn’t offer any of these kids.

Having a contrarian view backed by logic that doesn’t align with your fandom is ok, people. I promise.

The odds of a current high school junior playing meaningful snaps for Iowa State has to be worse than 50/50... Right??

I don't say that as a slight to our new 4* QB, it's just the era we live in.. Rhule also has the resources to be in the running for almost all transfers. If you had the resources, wouldn't you rather build a team in free agency versus the draft (no salary cap restrictions)
How’s that working out for him? There’s still room for developmental football and culture. Not every player is chasing a bag

Not sure what article/news you are reading. Matt Tool thinks that he can go get higher caliber talent elsewhere, and use the in-state kids as a fallback. The in-state kids, who have actual talent, are finding homes before Tool comes back to them. The reason Nebby hasnt offered is because by the time NU is in on the in-state kid (which happens to be the 3rd or 4th option) they are already signed to a team
