T. J . Has done an outstanding job since taking over. One thing he is terrible at though is in game adjustments. He and Campbell should get together so he can learn how to do this because matt is great at it. Maybe he could teach matt how to have a team peaking to start the season.

This season occurred during a tough and trying time in my life and when I feel like passing on the gameday duties to others the support you and others not mentioned bring to every gameday thread gives me gusto to continue on. Luckily FB season begins early so offseason will be somewhat shorter.
Thanks for all you do Rulzzz. If all our players were as consistent as you we’d still be playing. Next one will be Ireland. Will you do it at midnight Ireland time or Iowa time?

As a whole our starters without 100% Lipsey and no Gilbert are very unathletic.

Heise has way more hops and can get more vertical than Jefferson and Jackson and actually has some quickness. Jefferson has pretty bad dribble skills. Momcilovic is slow and doesn't have a great handle. Jones is probably our best overall player IMO.

This team reaching it's potential hinged on no injuries and Mom + Jefferson leveling up or some of our depth/youth guys stepping up. None of that happened.
For sure ISU didn't have most athletic Team, especially at end of season. Tough way to go out for a fun Team when at their best

Momcilovic seems to try hard on defense, but his NBA potential seems harder to see with his inconsistency and lack of athleticism. Played great first half of first game, but need that again.

Hmmm...let's come back to this next fall because I don't think this is the narrative.

It's a basketball game, who really cares.

For me it's racing season now.
I’m surprisingly unaffected right now too. Part of it is as I’ve gotten older realizing it’s really not all that important. Life goes on. Part of it is also realizing that this team didn’t have a long run in it. That’s been obvious for a month. So it just kind of is what it is

You can just copy/paste this and change the names of the coaches and post this on any college sports message board (and pro too probably). Fans don’t know ****.

8 man rotation over 35 games with max effort on defense, rebounds, with offensive motion is not workable. Excessive Injuries, fatigue, mental lapses, and reserve transfers.
Agree. To play the style TJ wants to play, need at least one (preferably 2) more athletic, gritty perimeter defenders than we currently have. Over the course of a long, physical season, our current roster configuration just can’t sustain the rugged pace.

Just goes down as an entirely weird year. Now that it’s over I imagine we can all agree that:

A) Keshons injury see-saw and him not traveling with the team is bizarre.

B) Watson playing really well within his role for 3 weeks then never seeing the floor again is bizarre.

C) Nojus going from rotation guy to behind Keldemran is bizarre

Just a weird year you’d love to know the full story. Oh well. On to the portal.

Thanks Rulzzz, from all of us! You make gameday threads fun and posting more fun. We appreciate all the work and time that goes into it. It's not easy being a thread starter like you do. We take you for granted, and shouldn't.

For me it's racing season now.
I'm stuck with a long ass MLB season.
This is what is most depressing about the end of a Cyclone athletics season.

I never liked racing, just cannot get into it. Any of it.

I used to love baseball, but that sport literally is like 6th on my fav sports list now. So long, very boring at times.

NHL is cool, especially playoffs so there is that. But I hate they completely remove fighting once playoffs start.

NBA regular season is a joke (I wouldn't care at all about it if it weren't for the plethora of Cyclones in the NBA.) Playoffs get a little interesting towards the end at least sometimes.

MLS. Eh, fun in person, but not gonna watch hardly of that on TV when EPL/La Liga/Bundesliga are so vastly superior.

Cyclone football. Cyclone basketball. Those two are the best. Once those two are over, it just feels like I'm into twiddling thumbs time with the other sports until FB is back.

You're probably right in most cases

Could probably ask TJ how many adjustments he makes in any given game and the answer would probably be “a lot”. The things fans don’t want to accept that adjustments don’t always work, and when they do it’s still 90% on the players making plays that may or may not be a product of those adjustments. Or the other team made an adjustment that hurt them and made us look like we made an adjustment. Just way too many variables.

Classic example is “Switch to a zone!”. 33.3% of the time it works, 33.3% it doesn’t, 33.3% of the time the other team just can’t shoot lights out forever and it happens to coincide with a switch up.
