Getting the ball across the time line is my biggest concern. Can Heise handle the ball well enough to help Lipsey bring it across? Once we get it across, I feel like we have a chance in the half court to get it into the Presidents or shoot threes and go for the offensive rebounds.

I’ve watched some of their games and I’m pretty sure Houston doesn’t press very often. So this should be fine.

The 2nd time? How so?

Those hopes aren't dashed until you don't make it.

Just like how a team isn't a FF contender unless they actually contend for it in the Elite Eight.
More accurate thing to say would've been Big 12 titles hopes-- but also extremely unlikely even with a win today.

Or seeding for the NCAA Tournament-- also not likely to take too big of a hit today.

Our only real advantage now against Houston is our size inside. Game needs to be played inside-out instead of our usual outside-in approach. May be run the weave offense that TJ ran his first year when he didn’t have enough ball handlers.

Conversely, Houston might choose to press at least a little more often, it'd be a viable approach with two ball-handlers missing. I'm not saying UH will do that, but it seems like a situation to alter strategy.

1 ball handler. Curt rarely is involved bringing the ball up. I have as much faith in Heise’s ability to handle the ball/make good decisions in those situations as I do with Curt. Now if Nojus is in, and involved in the press break, I feel like that’s when major issues may occur.

Thought the key to beating Houston is with our outside game. Like us, their Achilles is by the 3 pointer. Cryer is a smaller guard also. He was a terrible defender at Baylor but now is adequate. Jones and Gilbert could have worked him over.

Houston has good defensive bigs and Roberts has good hands to get steals or knock it off of President Jackson's leg.

Sadly, recipe for an offensive mush output.

Pete Thamel opened game day by reporting Kelderman is expected to play today. I mean…I like Kade, but come on.

Even one minute against scrubs is better than no minutes. How about working him for some minutes earlier in a game with 4 other starters, same with the other bench guys?
Great! He just played last game for about a minute so he should be fine. TJ doesn’t play guys just to play guys. If Nojus isn’t playing it’s because TJ feels like he’s not ready. Hopefully he steps up today though and shows something

I literally LOL’d when Gameday (Thamel, I think), mentioned Kelderman as one to look to get minutes! If that happens, we are waving the white flag early, or getting destroyed! Kelderman, the walk on??!!

Did he say he is expected to play or one that could get minutes?

Final Four hopes dashed for the 2nd time this season.
Why???
That's a lazy, emotional rationale...As many have said on here before...get healthy, be playing your best basketball as tourney time comes rolling around...let the chips fall where they may. Our chances will be as good as most everyone's chances.
