Until their win at KU, no one was real sure if they were legit. And KU gifted them that one. As bad as this Iowa St loss was, it will wasn't near as bad as the choke job KU had at home.
Houston could have and maybe should have (definitely in the KU game) lost to both KU and UCF in the last week and a half. Still a lot of conference games to go. They are definitely in the drivers seat right now though.

Believe it was Jones (but could be wrong). Likely worried of getting to close and fouling. Easy to second guess now we know that he made it. Sucks because we had the game in our grasp.
It was Tamin and I really think you could trust any of our guards to play Love tighter than they did on that inbounds.

Honestly it’s just better to let that hope go. Still gotta enjoy the ride. I think we were dealt a tough hand drawing @AZ, @KU, and @Houston. Plus the WVU was an obvious buzz saw
Yep. It's all about March Madness now. This team has 3 somewhat flukey losses. Had Auburn dead to rights, had Zona dead to rights, and WV was just an outlier and another dumb game in its own way. Nothing changes the fact that this team can win it all and is as good as anyone in the country. Losses like this probably only make us stronger and hungrier TBH.

I get that Arizona got a lucky buzzard beater to send this to overtime, but this ISU squad completely quit and didn’t bother showing up for overtime. I’m starting to get worried about this team as we looked completely pedestrian against WVU and Arizona. This team isn’t a 1 seed anymore and until they stop playing down to lesser opponents they won’t be the elite team we thought they were.

I see we had the game won with three seconds to go, then in fact lost in the stupidest and most unlikely way possible. Would expect nothing less.

I didn’t watch the game, but from the play by play it looks like we outplayed a strong opponent on the road by a good margin in the second half, had the game won with three seconds to go, only went to OT because Caleb-Love-the-overrated-chucker-playing-his-fifth-year-of-college-basketball-because-the-NBA-doesn‘t-want-him hit a 60-foot miracle heave that has little to do with actual basketball ability, then Arizona got red-hot from three in those next five minutes.

Sucks for sure to lose like that but I still feel pretty good about our team.

I hope that lights a fire. A couple guys decided not to show up. Jefferson was completely flat footed the entire game. Lost that one at the Free throw line and giving up all those offensive rebounds. You could tell TJ was pissed. Gave Jackson a look like I've never seen him give a player before.

Couldn’t stay up because I get up at 4, and with an exciting game, I’d be up until 2, but just seeing the score and the headline of the half court shot to tie it, makes me want to throw up, mainly in what that would feel like for the players.

That kind of game won’t affect how highly regarded this team is, but man, huge win in their grasp and just a freak play takes it away.

I’m not going to second guess not fouling there, though my preference would be to foul (and if my team is behind, I’m hoping the opponent won’t foul). Like TJ said, the odds on doing what they did are really low too.

Damn, gut punch for this team but they have an extra day or two to get ready for the Kansas schools, and I wouldn’t be surprised if we get both of those.

Didn’t watch but win at home and win half roadies in the B12 and it’s a winning season for me. Anything beyond that and it’s upper tier level nationally. Playing 2 games in 3 nights on the road against quality teams is not a formula for a sweep….they came close. Beat the snot out of K State. The loss of Momcilivic has hurt more than the average fan realizes. He spreads the court, can guard taller guards, rebounds and can create his own shot. Heise and Watson can do some of that but not all of that.

I’m reminded of the game at Colorado in 2000 where Jaquay Walls hit a similarly-stupid heave at the buzzer then we lost by ~10 in OT.
24 years ago and I remember that too. I hope you had to look up the name of the player or you are really really bitter about that one! But if you didn’t you are my “call a friend” on Cyclone Trivia Night.

Did not have to look it up, I’m still f*cking pissed about it and will not let it go.
