Exactly. She can’t play defense and can barely rebound. It’s brutal to watch.
You take the good with the bad, are you willing to give up her presents in the post and the scoring for better defense, and if so, who is going to replace her?

I was really hoping she would get her weight down and more under control after spending the year eating right, but I am not sure its going to happen. She is just a big framed gal, and there may be nothing she can do about it.

I am beginning to think Bill has had his moment in the sunshine. He either needs to bring in some fresh ideas (new assistant coach), or perhaps step aside and let someone else take the reins and work with this talented (albeit young) team. His in game coaching has slipped in recent years.
Don't get me wrong... I love Bill and he has done great things in Ames. But he's still getting paid for results. The season is early, so I will wait until it's over and see what happens. I support the ladies always.

Bill will not do that. Our coaching staff has been together an insanely long time for college athletics, which I think is actually a bad thing. I fear we are going to waste talent on Bill's twilight years.

I know someone who was within the program a few years ago and that was one of the biggest issues this person saw. Bill is the only voice in the room.

I’m not saying replace her, they don’t have any better options I don’t think, and it’s clear the entire offense is predicated on getting her the ball in the post and hoping she can make a layup.

I’d be interested in seeing her +/- this season, especially against the good competition. Scoring 20+ ppg is great, but if the defense gives up 20 ppg due to her inability to make rotations on defense, it’s kind of a wash.

I’m surprised she was a preseason AA. I personally don’t seen it and think a lot of it had to do with her scoring 40 or whatever in the tournament last year.

That was a rough game to watch knowing the whole time that Iowa State would choke at the
You knew it was coming and I didn't know if we would be able to handle it and we couldn't. I guess I don't see how Ryan gets ridden like a donkey night in and night out in Big 12. Iowa was hacking her, holding pushing and you could tell she wanted to push the defender away but she knew they would flop the refs caught up in the atmosphere were gonna call it. She was stuck and that lead to bad decisions, more dribbling less movement.

We better smoke their ass in Hilton next year. Addy looks like she gets it and wants to curb stomp anything with that **** stain logo on it.

Should be another close game. Iowa will have young but talented (by recruit ranks) team of freshman and sophomores and we will be juniors and seniors.

You may be correct you may not, but ISU still had the lead when she was on the bench, and he was trying to buy more time in the last quarter. Brown sitting the quarter was not what cost ISU the game, it was their lack of 3 point shooting and not being able to make free throws. that 9 to nothing EIU run occurred when Brown was in the game, not when she was on the bench.

You are ignoring how hard it is for a player to get back into the flow of the game after they sat for that long. Sitting Brown the entire 3rd was a bone headed move. Just incredibly dumb.

I just feel bad for the girls on this team. I think we are more talented than we are showing right now.

I don’t think Iowa is that good. I think this Iowa team will struggle some in the Big 10.

Why does Iowa have 5 SR starting, and ISU only 1 SR and four SO starting?

The BF apologists don't want to talk about that... It's been about one player since what 2015 or 2016? He can't build and retain a roster.

She's been on a slowly increasing minutes limit all year. Agree that she should have played more last night. She was on the bench at critical points in the game.

I did not like BF subbing at all last night. We went long stretches of the game without a starter on the floor and no one seemed confident enough to take a shot or get us into our offense.

I honestly think Addy may be our best option at PG right now. Just let her bring it up and initiate.

This is a HUGE part of Iowa State's problem. BF has had the same staff for freaking years. That's not a good thing... If the keys just get turned over to Jr this isn't going to end well. That rarely works and honestly, he needs to go be the head coach for a mid major and cut his teeth, he shouldn't just get the keys handed to him.

It’s hilarious how nobody wants to talk about the number of players that have left the program over the last 10 years or so. This isn’t a recent issue with players entering the portal. The blind BF loyalty is so predictable… Bill rebuilt the program and has had a heck of a run but it’s time for a new era.
And as usual…your negativity towards Coach emerges once more. One thing we can always depend on.

I know a former 4 year player and multiple year starter who almost left after her freshman year. He was really really hard on her and it is 100% Bill's show.

LOL more minutes? Were we shooting for another 10 turnovers?

Your ignoring the fact that he could have brought her right back in and she picks up another foul. Brown has seen and played a lot of bb, and her getting back into the flow of the game was either going to happen or not, it depends very little if she had sat the entire quarter or just half of it.
The fact remains that ISU still had the lead when she came back into the game and still had two fouls to play with. Her not playing is not what cost us the game. She was in there during the EIU 9 point run that won it for them, not on the bench.

Iowa will probably be in the top 5 of the B1G but yeah I don't think they are all that good. Their guards are quick and the move the ball well so when they are shooting it well from outside they will be a tough out. A good post player will eat them alive though.
