I'm driving 10 hours for the Kansas State game... What is your excuse?

Times like this are what kids remember.
I will add to this - it's not just kids. I took off from work and came down alone for the 2011 OSU game. Mrs. Velo didn't come because it was a Friday and with kids in school and her work it wouldn't work. I asked my elderly Mom if she wanted to go and she went with me. She's 85 and she is starting to have memory issues, but she can damn well remember going to that game and how she asked to go down on the field after they stormed the field (we did go down on the field, by the way). She still talks about it. When she is long gone and I'm in my 80s myself I will still have that memory with her.

My first child is due right around the day of game. 3 hour drive from our birth center to Ames. I’m as sicko as it gets, but I’ll be watching this one from the hospital.
Just act like it's 1965 when dads went to the bar while mom gave birth

I have never been to a baby shower. Do men go to them?
I haven't either. But this one is a "couples" baby shower. The men will be drinking keg beer watching the game. The women will be opening gifts and saying "awwww how cute" way too much.

I did, and can't understand why ISU would be holding tickets in this scenario. Is it the seats set aside for KSU?

I'm not sure why you won't just explain your position.
I don’t work for the ticket office. We do holds for every game. I’m the wrong person to ask why.

nearly every venue/team in the country does this and each has their own strategy or reason why...

wasn't that long ago 55K was an enormous overflow crowd...if we got over 50K that is still pretty good given the circumstances...my guess it will look pretty full other than the corners

I wasn’t able to go to that game either, so I bought 10 tix and donated them to Big Brothers/Sisters of Ames. They were stunned and appreciative when I called them. I feel like the karma helped . ;)
