I'm driving 10 hours for the Kansas State game... What is your excuse?

Not exactly sure.
Was Hilton packed for buy games at any point?

I went to conference games about twenty years ago and could sit about anywhere I chose. One was Tinsley's senior year vs. Tech as they were closing in on the regular season title.

When did this 'getting soft' start if it was apparently already in place?
That was before hoiball not perfect but better. Plus you are sitting inside during a meaningless game

I'm guessing Hoiball didn't have a packed house for November buy games.

My first child is due right around the day of game. 3 hour drive from our birth center to Ames. I’m as sicko as it gets, but I’ll be watching this one from the hospital.
You need to do a much better job of not having kids during football season. Look at the calendar next time before you plow the Mrs.

And Best of luck to you and your wife on the upcoming birth... hope it goes well.

For the older folks, do we have a lot more t-shirt fans than we used to? I’m an ISU grad and pretty much every cyclone fan I know is also a grad. Only 1 out of my many hawk friends graduated from Iowa

I really hope we’re getting traction with the non-grads but it’s hard for me to tell in my circle

Read the first few pages of this thread then jumped to the end to comment..... Hope I don't repeat something already being discussed. Apologies ahead of time if so.

This is not the biggest game in Iowa State history. That game will always be the Big 12 championship game against OU a few years ago.... until we finally win the Big 12 championship game, which will then become the defacto biggest game in ISU history. After that happens, then we can start dreaming about playoff games and debating which one of our many playoff games was the greatest.

I will concede this game will TIE for the biggest ISU HOME game in history. I remember playing Missouri in the Danny Mac era where all we had to do was win in order to play in the Big 12 championship game and we almost literally shot ourselves in the foot that game. It was cold, the crowd was meh, and we all walked out of that stadium in silence and disgust. This time let's fill the stadium and do everything in our power to make sure that never happens again.

Growing up in eastern iowa it was either suck it up or have no friends. At least they're civilized tavern hawks and not the toothless obese ones

Glad you got out. It's ok to get new friends and leave the childhood fans behind, lol.

If there are actually 60000 tickets sold already, that is great. But, if not, they need to sell the remaining tix at a greatly reduced price to get the stands filled. Huge game and we need a huge crowd.
