They're not "dead" for the REAL tournament because of two things....the Big 10 is garbage and them making the championship game is not out of the question AND it's the Big 10 and they will bend over backwards to get 7-8 teams in the tournament, which means Iowa and Michigan State are firmly in the running to allow that to occur. Gotta take care of the two conferences bringing in the most $$$ to the NCAA, thanks to the football end, sigh, !@#$
Ohio State/Illinois/Nebraska isn't exactly a gauntlet for sure. Sure, Nebraska is improved, but the Big Ten's 3 seed would have probably finished 7th in the Big 12

If you’re Tavern Hawk making an argument for Iowa to be in the tourney what are you hanging your hat on?

Two top 50 NET wins all year? Wisconsin and MSU?

What else do you have?
I know a number of tavern Hawks and they don't care if they make the tourney, at this point. They know it won't end well.

lol Harding is not good. Once teams have seen him more and realize he has no ability to score then he will become stupid easy to guard. Congrats on “carving up” a terrible defense I guess.

Harding's problem is he can't shoot. IMO he'll never be an all conference player but if he can be a threat from the outside he'll be fine there.

Just looking at it, and I've got 6 getting in (should be 5). My guesses

Purdue 1
Illinois 4
Nebraska 8
Northwestern 9
Wisconsin 9
Michigan State 11
they will take one to two more. It's the Big 10, they want as many in the field as possible. If Indiana, Ohio State or even Minnesota win two in the Big 10 tournament, they may get in.

Their best possible path in B1G tourney is Ohio State (60 NET), Illinois (16 NET), Nebraska (40 NET), and Purdue (2 NET). If they got to championship and lost, it would be 2 Quad 1 wins. That might be enough.

Iowa would definitely be in if they make the championship beating OSU, Illinois, and Nebraska.

2-1 would be close. Dayton maybe.

I think Ohio State maybe. Indiana and MN have NET rankings in tge 80s and 90s. I mean I know they say that doesn’t matter but there probably is a threshold they won’t go over.

Fine print: Exception: if you are in Big Ten, double the cut line

Yes and Ohio State is actually higher than Iowa in KenPom...they're top 50

The thing about OSU is they have talent on that team. They should have been way better, I don't know if the team just didn't like playing for Holtman but they have played like more what I expected after he got let go.

Indiana and Minnesota have no shot at an at-large. Ohio State (and maybe Iowa) needs a championship game appearance.

I am guessing there will be one or two tournament teams that make it where people think "WTF?" and it could be a big ten team. Last year Pitt's resume was not good and they got in.

The Big Ten hasn't won a national championship since 2000. Their lack of titles must be because of it being a meat grinder of a conference.

That would be tragic honestly. After watching Florida Atlantic go all the way to the Final Four last year I would hope the committee would know better. These middle to bottom B1G have had a full season to show that they're actually good teams. They have not done it. Leave them out please.

Big ten has had 7 runner ups in that timeframe. They are 0-7 in championship games since MSU won the title in 2000.
