All I can add is that their emaw board is hideous and mostly appears to be about 2 dozen people chatting.
They are quite fired up in a few spots on FB too. Otz is getting some creative nicknames.

Not exactly sure.
Ames is prettttyyy country. There's a segment of ISU fans and alums that I've always seen want to deny or distance themselves from it, but in my time it was definitely that way, and what I can see when I visit nowadays you still get plenty of that vibe.

I'm not one that sees that as a bad thing though, either. I grew up on a farm 3 miles from a town of 15-20 people and 4 miles from a town of maybe 120 people.
I grew up 3 miles from a town of 4-6. That 15-20 would have been the big city to us.

That's for the folks that have never seen State Gym before it was remodeled, or worse, never had to wait through three games of pick-up ball to get a game in Beyer before the Lied Center was built.

First time I played at in State, 1969, I was thinking you could drop one of those one-ton cartoon weights on the rims and they won't deflect 1/1000 of an inch,

I've lived all over the nation, all with something that makes it uniquely beautiful. Nowhere is better than anywhere else. At least not in a sweeping fashion. Ames is beautiful in its own way. And, above most it's the people that define its beauty. I traveled to every Big8 (yes. that old) school during college. Everywhere, again, had something truly wonderful about it.
When I played at other schools, I was the one reaching down to pick the opponent up off the ground. If nothing else, a show of respect and good sportsmanship.
I watched the replay yesterday. I'm truly confounded how people can get so worked up over trivial matters. While I laughed at the people behind the bench when he got the "T", at the same time I was truly embarrassed how adults could behave so childishly. I guess I was just raised in an era with a little more respect and cordiality.

The Des
Depends on how you define a flop, Gilbert had a good acting performance to draw a foul against BYU if I remember right. Every team at times exaggerates contact to draw fouls, because it works.
Additionally, I've noticed our guys exaggerate when they've been getting pushed or grabbed and not getting the calls. Officials hesitating to blow the whistle if players don't hit the deck is contributing to the flopping issue.
