Anyone else having an amazing day enjoying all these K-State tears? Beating them the way we did was so satisfying.

The only thing about Stillwater. Only thing......I forgot what it's like to be in bars that still allow smoking. VERY similar vibe to Ames, very similar fans too.Toss Stillwater/OSU into the mix, and you have 3 remarkably similar college towns, universities, and fanbases.
Wherever conference realignment has taken us, the fact that we're seemingly hitched to those 2 forever is something I really appreciate.
Yeah, that kicked my ass too.The only thing about Stillwater. Only thing......I forgot what it's like to be in bars that still allow smoking. VERY similar vibe to Ames, very similar fans too.
Unsure if Norman allows it, if they do, it wasn't as strong of a presence for me to remember.
Ha! Guilty! Corrected that...darn voice to text which I didn't check before posting! The lose/loose struggle has found a new challenger.
I went to games at Hilton in the late 70's and if you got there 30-45 minutes early you could sit directly behind the opposing team's bench. We did it all the time. And yes, we did all we could to get under their skin, but also no profanity. The Lynn Nance years. As a student I sat right behind the opposing bench a number of times in the old Armory. We were loud and obnoxious but never obscene IRRC. Was sort of funny seeing the old folks who now own those seats acting like 18 year me. Made, me chuckle but also reminded me how mad student me was when we lost those seats in the move to Hilton. And we've now moved the end seats back which sucks for the students.
I believe I have shared this story before on this board, but in the late-80's there was a year the student tickets were a rotation between 4 seats that ranged from really good to nose bleed. Our really good tickets were 4 rows behind the opposing coach. We had those seats one game against Missouri when Norm was still coaching. That dude was BIG and had a menacing brow when trying to intimidate officials. At one point he was yelling at a ref of Latino decent, and when the guy turned away, Norm yelled, "Hey, Taco Bell, I'm not done with you yet!" We yelled, "Hey Norm, nor racial statements! This is Iowa, the education state!) FYI - Some of Anthony Peeler's family were a couple of rows in front of us. Norm, stopped, turned and looked right at us...and winked!...then turned right around and yelled again at the ref. He always LOOKED out of control, but that night we learned he was very much in control!I went to games at Hilton in the late 70's and if you got there 30-45 minutes early you could sit directly behind the opposing team's bench. Great teams in the ‘70s with those unis. They broke those back out in the 80's as well. Hated the dark purple with light purple. View attachment 122820
They also had Mitch Richmond in the 80's who was first string all Big 8 the same year with Jeff Grayer and Danny Manning.Great teams in the ‘70s with those unis.
Oh how I remember. Disgusting. Here is background on some of what they did to Grayer...

I loved that arrangement and that's when Hilton was really amazing. I always felt the students being intermingled with the general public helped get the whole place up and loud.in the late-80's there was a year the student tickets were a rotation between 4 seats that ranged from really good to nose bleed
Wow, that is impressive that you still have that! That was a fun team to watch. I didn't, however, enjoy our nosebleed seats, but there really isn't a terrible seat in Hilton...it was ALWAYS loud and fun.I loved that arrangement and that's when Hilton was really amazing. Although I am MUCH more sympathetic and gracious to OSU fans than I am KSU fans. Mostly due to KSU online behavior. OSU is probably my #2 Big 12 team although TCU is up there too. Inadequate data on the new 4 so they are not included.Toss Stillwater/OSU into the mix, and you have 3 remarkably similar college towns, universities, and fanbases.

$33 in 1988!? That's like 7 million dollars today.I loved that arrangement and that's when Hilton was really amazing. I always felt the students being intermingled with the general public helped get the whole place up and loud.

Moot pointHe might be bias, but either way, it's a moot point.
