These kids deserve what they are going to get, which I hope is at least 10 years. You don't pull a gun on someone and deserve to go on your merry way. These two could have killed him! What don't you understand about that. It doesn't matter if its 11 dollars or a million you don't pull a gun on someone. I can't believe you wrote what you did. You have got to be out of your mind!

How is it violence to send these kids to jail. Its called living by the rules of law. You do bad things and you have to pay for them. We are not talking about them punching someone. We are talking about them threating him with a gun. All I can say is WOW you really don't get it.

That's an average poem. I've never read that before, but personally I have some strong disagreements with it. Anyway, it has nothing to do with this thread.
I was hoping to see aat the end there. Armed robbery isn't taken lightly. I would expect these 2 thugs to see some quality time behind bars. A 25 year sentence would be correct for this situation. I'm sure they both have a record because you don't just go from straight A student to someone who commits armed robbery.

I don't care how poor you are, how desperate you are or how many drugs you have taken - if you pull a gun on someone you deserve to go to jail. You need to re-look at your posts.
I've been poor before - my family never stole or pulled guns on people to steal their money. These kids might deserve a 2nd chance at some point, yes. But, this guy's son who did the right thing does not deserve to have someone like you tell him he was wrong.
agreed, there is a difference between the stealing a loaf of bread to avoid starving argument, and robbing people at gunpoint, where there is the very real chance that something could go wrong and the original posters son could have been hurt.
And, if the comments on the Register are true, they didn't use the money to buy food or other necessities, they bought pot.
