I would prefer this to paying a fixed freak'n price for my sewage.
I tried conserving water until I got my second or third water bill and saw that all of my effort was saving me all of maybe $1.00 each month
Then I said to hell with it and started living comfortably

comfortably isn't the best word for that but I'm too tired / lazy to find a better one
I stopped going out of my way to conserve, take shorter showers, etc because it makes little difference. Still affects my power bill but not much incentive in the water department

Doesn't Ames already do this? I thought that we were charged sewage for every gallon of water we used.
My local utility bases monthly sewer charges on the average water usage from Dec, Jan, Feb, & Mar. Seems to work OK as you basically pay for usage without being dinged for summer lawn watering.
So, I guess the saying "if it's yellow, let it mellow. If it's brown, flush it down," really comes into effect here. :wink:
