I'm not reading this whole thread, but acting like ISU and the new process failed everyone is BS. There is a large group that comes in late every game. The problem with the new system just compounded it. You have 6+ hours to tailgate and yet tons of knuckleheads trying to get into the game 5 minutes before kickoff is ISUs problem and ISU alerted everyone of the change. Who would have thunk a new process may have issues..... Get over yourselves.
It’s usually a good idea to do due diligence before making an assumption and then issuing a statement. For starters it wasn’t 5 minutes and phones were loaded properly. The perfect storm was caused by many breakdowns in the new system and poor planning by AD personnel in anticipation of such a scenario. The people at the entry points were overwhelmed with the situation and no plan B was in place for them to deal with the situation. Your last sentence is not a good look without reading reports from folks who were in line at 12:30 and couldn’t get in because the scanners failed. I expect JP will get it right this week just like he has on the glass barrier.

You had several days and 12 pages of opportunity to inform yourself of reality from people who were in those lines and posted time stamped pictures of the backup on the bridge and mass of humanity at the north gate, but rather you decide to post this^. Why even bother posting unless you are outright trolling?

Also, no one had 6+ hours to tailgate. The new schedule guarantees everyone has <6 hours pre-kickoff. Another misinformed statement

People trying to get into the game 5 minutes before kickoff probably had less of a wait then people who lined up 30-45 minutes early. This had zero to do with the problem.

At least the wall is coming down. Thank God for small miracles.

Section 19 Glass Wall

Dear Section 19 ticket holder,

Please accept our apologies for the inconvenience we caused by installing a
glass wall on the east side of Section 19 during the off-season.

The decision to install the wall was made last fall after receiving
positive feedback from the east side club seat holders. We should have
anticipated the wall on the west side was not going to have the same
positive effect as it did on the east side of the club section. The bottom
line is we made a mistake on this issue and are committed to making it
right.

Our plan is to have the wall removed, or modified, in time for Saturday’s
game. We may have to install a temporary solution for the remainder of the
season if a new railing is not available until after the season is over.
In either case, our goal is to rectify the problem this week.

We also plan to refund the price of your UNI ticket. The ticket office
will process those refunds to the original ticket holder’s account using
the original form of payment by the end of September. In addition, we are
also providing each account holder four complimentary single-game tickets
to our November 4th home game against Kansas.

I hope that you can use these complimentary football tickets to invite a
friend or family member to a game. The complimentary tickets have been
added to the account of the original ticket holder.

Thank you for your understanding and patience as we work through this
challenge.

Go Cyclones!

pay starts at $10/hr
so you're saying 3 years ago workers were paid $5/hr?

Any employer paying $10 per hour should not complain that no one wants to work. Walmart, Target, McDonalds, etc. are routinely paying $15 per hour aren’t they?

Dear Cyclone fans,

We wanted to follow-up on our correspondence from earlier in the week to share the plans we are implementing this week to help with the congestion we experienced at the entrance gates prior to the UNI game.
  1. We are removing the bars from the turnstile scanners to make it faster for fans to pass through the gates.
  2. We will have additional customer service representatives on hand at the entrances to help individuals successfully tap or scan their tickets and deal with issues as they arise.
  3. If a fan has a difficult time scanning/tapping their tickets, customer service representatives will escort the fan into the stadium and away from the entrance to resolve the problem, thereby keeping the turnstile readily available for the next customer.
We can also use your help. With anticipation of several political candidates within the stadium footprint throughout the day, arriving at the gates earlier will help avoid potential bottlenecks and ensure that all fans can enter the gates safely and efficiently. Most fans that arrived at the entrance gates last Saturday by 12:30 p.m. (30 minutes prior to kickoff) were able to move through the turnstiles without issue. We strongly encourage fans to begin entering the stadium at least 45 minutes prior to kick-off to best insure quicker entry.

In addition, all fans should have their tickets downloaded and added to their Apple or Google wallets to expedite the scanning process. Here are some helpful links to share the best way to do this (FAQ), as well as the proper way to use our new pedestals (cyclones.com/mobiletickets).

We are hopeful these simple steps will allow fans to enter the stadium smoothly and in plenty of time for kickoff.

We appreciate your understanding and patience.

Very. Why would it work on the east side but not west side?
Because the reflection is not blocking the field, they are on the field side.
Because I believe the wall has the stairs on the West side of it, so there is essentially an "air gap" to prevent people from having the sun reflect directly on them.
That is just 2 of the probable reasons.
