So find some indoor activity away from the keyboard. Again, you've voiced your opinion. We understand your opinion. Some people have different opinions. You're not going to change their opinion much like others won't change your opinion. It's hot as balls outside.
How'd you get to an adult that was charged with 2 murders from a minor that hasn't been charged with anything and think, yeah, this is an apt comparison? lol
Read the post to which he was responding. How'd you get to an adult that was charged with 2 murders from a minor that hasn't been charged with anything and think, yeah, this is an apt comparison? lol
That accident wasn’t too far from my home on the east side of Iowa City. It’s a four-way stop at the intersection of two residential streets, nowhere near a highway. Why would the State Patrol do an accident report at such a location in place of ICPD? Do they respond to traffic fatalities?Iowa. State. Patrol. Jesus christ, guys.
Minors names are commonly withheld when they are the victim or alleged victim. It is far less commonly withheld if they are the one charged. No charges yet is why the name isn't published.Minors names are often withheld , seems you want it released because of who his dad is.
OJ was found civilly responsible for the two murders (Civil court has a lower threshold than criminal court). Judge awaySo you don't judge OJ?
Holy crap, link these posts, that's terrible.
He stated "I’m just not of the belief that it’s the public’s right to hold the individuals at fault for a crime (whether guilty or not) when the justice system has failed"
So I gave him a public example of the justice system failing and wanted to know if he holds OJ "at fault for a crime".
I think it's probably true that this case is getting special treatment because of the people involved. But I think it's likely that the driver's name will get released publicly at some point--right now it's probably just a matter of clearing up all of the facts to limit the speculative questions asked once it is released.
In an ideal world, I think this should be treated like it would for any case. But I think that standard should extend to the general public (like us) as well. This situation doesn't really have anything to do with Iowa basketball other than the names involved. It's not an active player who might get suspended or who got hurt. It's not a coach who did something stupid or represented the university in a bad way. It's the son of a coach who is still a couple of years away from even joining the team (assuming he does, in fact, go to Iowa). If it's relevant to his recruiting, we can wait and discuss that if and when he commits or signs with the team.
Assuming his name does become public at some point, this will probably stick with him in the court of public opinion for much longer than if he were a normal high schooler, regardless of whether he actually did anything reckless or illegal. As such, he'll probably be stuck with more guilt as well. It makes me feel bad that that's the case, and it makes me feel worse that more attention will be (and is already) paid to him rather than the person and the family of the person who died.
https://dps.iowa.gov/divisions/iowa-state-patrol/technical-investigation The state patrol has a special unit that investigates accidents. They are the go-to for most accident investigations, especially if there is a fatality. I highly doubt the ICPD has something similar. That accident wasn’t too far from my home on the east side of Iowa City. It takes a long time to subpoena cell phone recordsSeems like this is really getting swept under the rug. Can't find anything new on it. My Hawkeye friends haven't even heard about it.
I don’t think the rumors and the timing of the announcement last week re the recruitment of a certain player are coincidental.Seems like this is really getting swept under the rug. Can't find anything new on it. My Hawkeye friends haven't even heard about it.
Why are you being vague?I don’t think the rumors and the timing of the announcement last week re the recruitment of a certain player are coincidental.
Leave it alone, seriously. There's no conspiracy.
