JW and EH talked all game about how OSU was focused on taking away our outside shots. That is how we were able to get rolling with the inside dunks, etc. early. Then OSU figured out how to make those difficult too.

I said a while back that OSU looked like a tough matchup and today showed that.

At the same time, if ISU gets impatient they struggle.

And ISU still had a chance late despite OSU breaking out their own 3 point shooting.

People need to stop using foul differential as some indicator of poor officiating.

ISU is absolutely that Frank Martin KSU or peak Huggins WVU teams we used to cry about in the Hoiberg days. Our guys are THE most physical, handsy, cylinder-violating team in the league.

And it’s ******* glorious and I love it.

Tough loss. Should’ve won but it’s a road game in the best league in the country, and probably the best per metrics of any conference in at least a decade.

Rewatch first half and tell me when you’ve seen such an aggressive offense be fouled 3 times for just two fts? It was horse ****.

I have no issue with fouls called on ISU in this game because you’re right about our defensive style, they just didn’t call them on ok st especially in first half even though ISU was causing a lot of contact attacking basket.

Ward’s strength seems to be finishing…I can’t say I can compare their d as confidently.
All I know is Ward has a ton of length, and a lot more athletic. Rob can bang around on the inside with guys like Lampkin, but he's been really bad the last few games. I wish ESPN tracked +/- for college basketball - I'm guessing his wouldn't be pretty.

Congrats to coach boynton for the biggest upset of his life apparently
He has to do something to try to drum up support. Huge game for them and the place was half full - as usual. Maybe 1000 students? No support again this year for the Cowboys. You'd think that someday it would affect their recruiting (and OUs) but for some reason recruits keep going there.

This teams goal should not be to make the NCAA tournament.
Proven it can do so much more.
Screw your 3 more wins.
This team? Sounds like this is more personal than that for you. They aren't full of 5 stars like Kansas. They don't have the luxury of having bad nights and still winning consistently. Maybe in 5 years? Right now we should be happy with where we are at.

People calm down. We blew a game we had a big lead in (albeit the first half early on) but it took a team getting multiple banked in threes and getting hotter from three than they have been all season plus us missing some really timely FTs in the final two minutes to beat us by 2 on their home court.

Not concerned in the slightest. Only thing this was was a missed opportunity to really grab a great road win. Beat K State at home this week and we are right back in the conference lead.
I was certain we would hit a shot when we inbound with 13 seconds left to win by 1. Oh well.

I'm far more concerned about Grill than losing a road game in conf..

We cannot afford to be down 2 starters.

We played poorly offensively in 2nd half and yes officials missed a ton of calls that went Okie st way

--Goaltending on Holmes shot
--Lipsey was fouled on his layup at end
-- Osun missed dunk literally hit nothing and went high in air and landed in bounds yet officials blew whistle and gave it to okie st. LMFAO awful call.
-- Not to mention 28-12 FT shooting diff in this game..

All that said a 2pt loss on road happens...Need to refocus quickly for Kstate game Tuesday...

Getting Grill back and healthy might be most important item rest of season.
Now put together a list of why okie st wins by more

You sir, are correct! The front face of the backboard is 48" from the inside edge of the end line.

And the ball doesn’t have to go over the board by much, any of it going over the backboard in any direction makes it out of bounds. Like I said, the refs were far from perfect, but this call was 100% correct.

I feel pretty uneasy about free throws. At least we shot them better than threes today but not sure anyone but Gabe made a three. Going to be hard to hold a late lead without better free throw shooting.

The referees mechanics indicated out of bounds. I’ll go with the rule book and the mechanics.
Ball didn't touch anything after it hit the rim...It hit nothing.

Pretty sure ball can go behind backboard so long as it is not out of bounds or touches back of backboard.

Apparently ball behind is out...thought it had to touch something.
