People need to stop using foul differential as some indicator of poor officiating.

ISU is absolutely that Frank Martin KSU or peak Huggins WVU teams we used to cry about in the Hoiberg days. Our guys are THE most physical, handsy, cylinder-violating team in the league.

And it’s ******* glorious and I love it.

Tough loss. Should’ve won but it’s a road game in the best league in the country, and probably the best per metrics of any conference in at least a decade.

I agree that differential alone isnt an indicator.

But the idea that OSU only committed 3 fouls in the first half with the way both teams were playing is nonsense.

Plenty of other reasons to say those refs were garbage too. Multiple blown block\charge calls, the goaltend, etc.

Maybe my eyes are bad or it hit something in the rafters but that makes more sense based on what limited info we got.
I think that's still a baffling call, but a competent commentating crew would have clarified what the call was rather than whatever they were doing. I need to see the replay because I thought it was borderline behind the backboard, but definitely not clear enough to call it for that mid air.

Lipsey was banned?

He's hit threes this year. He had very few looks today as did most.

Chris specifically mentioned before the season that he wasn't going to be allowed to shoot much. And he hasn't shot many 3's. And THAT IS FINE. I just think maybe the new rule should be that Rob should pass out of the post 2 times for every one time he tries a shot.

I agree with others who have said it was basket interference. The call was made by the official at half court almost immediately after the ball went into the air.

The referees mechanics indicated out of bounds. I’ll go with the rule book and the mechanics.

JW and EH talked all game about how OSU was focused on taking away our outside shots. That is how we were able to get rolling with the inside dunks, etc. early. Then OSU figured out how to make those difficult too.

That’s one that the team will want back. Best thing anybody can do is get into a Hilton Coliseum on Tuesday and go crazy so we can demolish the purple kitties and get back atop the big 12 standings.

I hope the team isn’t too banged up we really need to get healthy.

Bad games happen. We started hot and then got ice cold. Watch the tape, learn from it, and get KState at home. That's a huge game now.
Yup. Definition of a team loss. After Shoon's first few minutes, nobody had their fastball today, including TJ. The key is to not let a loss turn into a losing streak.

It’s amazing how a segment of this fan base is convinced that we lose every game because of the refs. I come out on this site sometimes just to observe the insanity.

I think it’s people like you dreaming that up. Nobody blamed refs for KU loss. Lots of reasons for loss today and horrid inconsistent officiating very obviously one of them.

People calm down. We blew a game we had a big lead in (albeit the first half early on) but it took a team getting multiple banked in threes and getting hotter from three than they have been all season plus us missing some really timely FTs in the final two minutes to beat us by 2 on their home court.

Not concerned in the slightest. Only thing this was was a missed opportunity to really grab a great road win. Beat K State at home this week and we are right back in the conference lead.

Just get 3 more wins and all's fine.

This will be good to see where things really are.

Hopefully for some CFers' emotional health/maturity ISU never loses again.

Ward and the full court press need more minutes when Osun rests on the bench.

I feel like his full court defense is obviously super disruptive, but he gets lost in the half court defensively. If he can clean that up, he could be a force down the stretch and going into next year.

Well it’s kind of physically impossible barring indoor wind for it to go over the backboard and somehow land as far into play as it landed, unless my eyes deceived me or it hit something in rafters.
My guess is the ref thought it hit the shot clock but it didn’t. I hate that crew. They are incompetent.

I'm far more concerned about Grill than losing a road game in conf..

We cannot afford to be down 2 starters.

We played poorly offensively in 2nd half and yes officials missed a ton of calls that went Okie st way

--Goaltending on Holmes shot
--Lipsey was fouled on his layup at end
-- Osun missed dunk literally hit nothing and went high in air and landed in bounds yet officials blew whistle and gave it to okie st. LMFAO awful call.
-- Not to mention 28-12 FT shooting diff in this game..

All that said a 2pt loss on road happens...Need to refocus quickly for Kstate game Tuesday...

Getting Grill back and healthy might be most important item rest of season.
