George was sick and died 05. It hung on for awhile, but once his kids took over it went south quick. Nostalgia and characfer couldn't be beat at the old spot, but food/quality remained consistent in early part of the move. Should've sold to manager he trained.

Eventually Gyro cart/flying burrito guy bought from his family after a few years. Turned into Battle Cry? Maybe had once, but was a shell of its former self.

Matthew Goodman. We worked in the same graduate lab in BBMB. He was on the city council for quite some time.

Yeah, those first couple years by CHC in like 2004-2005 it was great.

Downhill from there. Name changed in 09, not sure when they moved to welch.
I believed they moved when Welch did that whole remodel with adding the CVS. The only reason I liked fighting burrito was because they had wild rice for their burritos.

Dugan's first Ames bar I ever drank in, I think I was 17. Always took my girlfriends there for a sandwich and a beer. Also went there after taking two doses of magic mushrooms because the first dose didn't do anything, LOL big mistake, I left early and hid in my dorm room closet.

Cys roost sign also used to say 'Don's deli' (maybe still does). Is/was this an actual deli during the day?
There was food there for sure. I'd say early 2000s they got busted for selling under age and had to shut down Cys for a while.
They remodeled and I don't know what came after that.
Paddy's used to have food too and then they went to burgers only one night a week.

Been eons since I've been in either place.

Did they get busted for selling underage? I remember them getting busted for bootlegging out at the stadium. They were selling cups for the kegs they had which is a no-no. They had to close down for a month or so. At that time we tailgated right near them in the S lots SW of the stadium.

Maybe it was the stadium thing and they extended it to remodel. I feel like they closed for a while.
