I’ve noticed he’s very engaged most of the time and is very encouraging to his teammates. I’m wondering if the staff didn’t tell him they wanted to redshirt him which is why he’s only played in a couple blowouts.

Unless something has changed in basketball, if you play 5 seconds in a game you've burned your redshirt. There is no 4 game thing like football.

Sorry, didn't want to start a thread for this.....but if anyone on here has the capability to go back to around the 4:00 mark of the 2nd half of the TCU/OU and screen shot the graphic that was put up with the big 12 standings...... I couldn't find ISU for the life of me until I kept looking closer and they had Ohio State and logo listed in our place. YOU CAN'T MAKE THIS STUFF UP!
Oh...if anyone can do it...also tweet it out, please. Unreal

Ohhh so it’s just medical redshirts? Very interesting

Yes. Football is the only sport (currently) that has the "free games." Every other sport still adheres to the one game = one year rule, except for medical hardships.

Yeah, I believe a medical redshirt is the only way a basketball player can play and still redshirt. Also, Walker got in on the final defensive possession of the first half against Kansas, which would make him ineligible for a medical redshirt since it's beyond the midpoint of the season. I think he was just in to potentially intentionally foul if the situation presented itself, and be some defensive length.

You can play in up to 8 games and still redshirt.

You don’t redshirt in basketball anymore. Doubt Walker is here in 4 months
Kids rarely redshirt anymore because they all think they’re good enough to play now and aren’t going to school for education. They’re are some who are team players and are going to school for an education and Jaden could be one of those rare kids who’s in it for the school/teammates and not himself.

That game was probably the best we’ve looked on both ends of the floor for two halves. Only gripe I’d say would be rebounding and FT shooting at the end. Such a big win for this bunch. Was a breath of fresh air watching Gabe today. He was smart with his shots and he took good care of the ball.

Tyrese is the real deal folks. As he gets better from 3 (he’s a gym rat and it’ll happen) he’s gonna be damn near unguardable. Conditt is in his own head right now. Just is so indecisive and it leads to bone head plays, but it’s two games in a row now that Bob has come in and stepped perfectly into his role.
