With texas football being in shambles and OU losing its coach without an obvious replacement (and likely some top recruits and current players) do you think they will stay in the big 12 for the remainder of their contract? It was widely assumed that they would be gone within a year or two but it would be a death sentence to move to the SEC with the state of their current programs.

I think there will be some sort of settlement with ESPN and the AAC that has them exiting in 2023 and all four new members coming in at the same time. It will likely be in conjunction with a new TV deal that keeps the per-school payout pretty close to what it is now, and the B12 drops all possibilities of litigation.

Big names. They definitely want them.

Big names yes, but as you negotiate that new contract, it'd be nice if they were winning. Would delaying the move a couple years make that contract more profitable if they weren't middle of the road Big12 teams?

If the Longhorns get any worse or the Sooners get more disfunctional, the Big Xii should pay them to go away to protect the Big Xii Brand!

Not exactly sure.

Didn’t the big ten take Maryland and Rutgers for TV markets? Things may be a little different but Texas and OU bring lots of viewers and high ratings. Any conference would consider them.

The Big 12 might roll the dice and not accept a settlement arranged by ESPN, so, yes, they could stay through 2025.
