If so, they should change that. If not, people should be lining up.

Iowa should be more like S. Korea and test less to keep the #s down.

But we need to strive to be like South Korea.

~250 deaths vs ~75k deaths. Wonder who had the better response? Don't need to test as many people when it isn't spreading.

How many tests did they run yesterday?

They have successfully implemented the test and trace strategy - where they trace contacts from positive tests and test everyone. It has been successful. The implication that the virus is spreading freely in South Korea and they just aren't testing for it (or reporting deaths) is completely unfounded.

You might not want to get tested unless you are showing symptoms. It is not a pleasant experience if you get a nasal swab. It's pretty invasive how far they have to shove that stick up your nose to get a sample.

Yeah. My sister’s a PT at a hospital and one of the nurses told her if the testee didn’t start bleeding down their throat they probably didn’t go hard enough.

My friend who got one and tested negative said it was like they were rubbing a swab against your brain.

Still it's a waste of resources. I've been back and forth by it the last couple days and everytime I went by nothing. Send the volunteers where they are needed.

It looks like about 326,500 have taken the assessment through testiowa as of yesterday. Which seems low honestly. It doesn't state how many were approved for testing, which would be good information. https://coronavirus.iowa.gov/pages/assessments

And it's not exactly in and out real quick either. Had it done during the Swine Flu outbreak.

With Gov. Reynolds really focusing on how businesses and churches are being responsible in opening up, I would expect the vast majority of businesses to be allowed to open by the 15th.

That has been my thought as well. Everything is lining up to be back to normal no later than Memorial Day.

Compare that to my employer who now has a mandatory face ask policy for anyone that comes into the office. I personally can't imagine them making us come back while having a policy like that. Also hearing rumors that we will be WFH until Labor Day.

Did she state specifically how that's happening, or just make a vague proclamation?

Any insight into some good ideas for maybe what a business is doing that's productive and safe?

the policy we're working on is starting June 1 people can come back to the office up to 50% occupancy, with rotations if more than that want to. And no face-to-face meetings, face masks encouraged, etc

Magufuli also said that he was sending a plane to collect a cure being promoted by Madagascar’s president. The herbal mix has not yet undergone internationally recognised scientific testing.

“I’m communicating with Madagascar,” he said during a speech, adding: “They have got a medicine. We will send a flight there and the medicine will be brought in the country so that Tanzanians too can benefit.”

He also talked about only needing to pray it away.

She just laid on pretty thick how businesses and churches are being responsible and how it is up to each person to do what they are comfortable with. Again, just my interpretation.

Koreans tend to overreact, so that may have helped initially. They obviously jumped into gear immediately w/testing, tracing, tracking, etc. Honestly, quite amazing how well it has been handled/managed, etc.

And S. Korea makes good electronics, cars and the like, too. Makes you trust them for overacting and maybe engineering things.
