Don't worry the farmers market will offer artisanal disinfectants and bleach to better inject ourselves with.

I look at as an additional source of food for people, but yeah, there was definitely some pressure from somewhere.

I doubt it would be the Farm Bureau though - there's generally very little overlap between Farm Bureau and farmers who sell at markets

So casinos and everything are good to go May 1st? That’s almost as bad as Georgia

Things I will continue to social distance from like I've done every day ever:

Casinos, and Georgia bowling alleys. And pretty much any southern state. And Las Vegas.

Where has anything but elective health care and limited farmers markets been announced? People again seem to be freaking out over something that apparently wasn’t said.

She insinuated pretty strongly restaurants will open May 1 when asked about it.

I just want my tattoo shops to get opened back up. I was talking to my client yesterday and as long as they limit it to the customer and artist only (no friends or spectators) and customer and artist both wear a mask they should be able to open. They already have to have clean and a sterile environment. And like he said, he don't want to get sick so he'll take every precaution they recommend.

not extending that order is idiotic. Now... are there business that could open up? Yep. Is that how this is being approached? Maybe. I do know they should be looking at requirements and check lists for every business that wants to open up. It gets reviewed, and then a determination is made.

And doing so one a day with record high new cases and record high deaths...some great leadership.

I thought she indicated that she would let the current order expire come May 1st? Unless on Monday she has a new order she plans on signing.

I suggested Farm Burea but with a question mark because I don't know. I don't know what ag lobby would represent farmers markets and if they would have much pull with the governors office. It just seems like such a strange thing to highlight and open up.. I figure pressure is coming from somewhere and IFB has a ton of influence.

i was referring to her May 1st date from her (lack of an) answer.

can a business operate with 10 feet S.D., one customer at a time and cleaning procedures? I believe they shoudl be open first ... is that 5/1? Not sure as we don't have data as the state is hiding it and we dont' have enough tests.

She said she'd have proclamations on Monday. She can't reasonably allow hip replacement surgeries and not allow people to get a haircut.

yes she can because medical facilities should have PPE.

Will be fairly upset if she starts opening stuff up after cancelling school a week ago.
If she’s allowing farmers markets to open she might as well allow everything else. Des Moines farmers market gets as busy as a small fair. There’s no room to walk. People breathing down people’s necks. Won’t catch me down there.
