I am excited for this game. 4 legit D1 athletes

Tyler Endres- Norwalk. 4 star offensive lineman. Does a good job playing basketball. I was sad to see him pic Iowa but being Chris Streets relative I saw it coming. Wears number 40 in honor of Chris

Bowen Born- Norwalk. Slowing getting offers from more D1 teams. Scoring Machine. Son of Former Clone Mike Born. Very nice kid also

Xavier Foster- Potential 5 star recruit with Iowa State offer. Has all the tools if he can put them together. Very young still so will mature over the next few years.

Cole Henry- Osky. Typical UNI recruit. Great Hustler. Has potential but not quite enough for Iowa or Iowa State to offer. Should fit in good at UNI

At this point I would take Osky and Norwalk over the class 4A teams. Which I would never had done in the past. Expected Crowd tonight is between 7k and 7500.

Anyone going?

I'll likely be watching on TV. Should be a good one. Watched both semis games yesterday and Born was probably the most impressive to me out of those 4 but it also helps that he has the ball in his hands more than the others. Feel like Foster should be able to dominate but doesn't seem like he wants to that much. Effort on the boards was lacking a lot. Should be a fun one. The 4A games are yawwwwwnnn

Foster is a little timid. If u see him play AAU he is a totally different player

I think their opponent's largest player yesterday was 6'1, so you'd think they could have thrown lob after lob if they had wanted to. It's possible that they want to play with a team concept, rather than just use their advantage and beat everyone to death with it.

Winterset is definitely short but quick as hell. That Darling kid can play. Osky guards are not that good.

Winterset was pesky! I was at the game and I kept expecting to look up and see them ahead by 10 but Osky would be up by 1. Foster definitely does not play like a typical post. Hangs out at the 3 then occasionally goes inside. He had a couple monster jams.

If you'll remember, Harrison Barnes played that way in HS as well. But on the other hand I'd be surprised if in my lifetime I see another Iowa HS team with as much talent as that Ames team had...especially coming from a public school.

Agreed. The year they faced Linn-Mar in the championship there were six D-1 basketball guys on the floor (Marcus Paige, Matt Bohannon, Zach Bohannon, Bubu, Harrison and Doug McDermott) and then at least one or two FBS or FCS guys.

I'll be there again, looking forward to the rematch since these two split in the regular season.

Bowen Born is a volume shooter.

Against Ballard team took 48 shots total, he took 24. Against Clear Lake, team took 57 shots total, he took 31.

Total team - 105 shots
Total Bowen Born 55 or 52.38% of total team shots.

Against Clear Lake, needed 31 shots to score 32 points.

Ok. So I know this story pretty well. They have a smart coach. He wants Bowen to shoot the crap out of the ball. He does what it takes to win. Sometimes it hurts and they lose a few but when bowen is on, they win.

Let not forget... Against Ballard he was 1-5 behind the arc, which is horrible for him.

Against Ballard he needed 24 shots to score 40 points...

He was efficient against Ballard, however they were the # 8 seed. A step up on competition against Clear Lake and the results were different.

For the year, he has 504 field goal attempts, the next highest for Norwalk is 262.

In high school I want my best player taking the most shots.

Which is why Waukee loses every year. That coach is horrible. I have never been so confused on a high school coach. The he has major talent but likes to spread the ball around. Ok that's nice and all but when you have major talent, get them the ball. When you win the state tourney all will be forgave. North Head coach is very good about getting his best guy the ball every time down and making the offense go through him. He always has been good at that.
