Keith saying something like “good luck winning challenges” after they voted him out was the best. Dude was horrible at challenges. I have a crush on Kelly so I’m glad they didn’t vote her out.

What's with the cliffhanger ending?

Is somebody REALLY not going to take the Edge of Extinction option?

I mean, you interrupted your whole life for months to play the game and when given a chance to continue you think, "Nah, I suck at this." Maybe...

Agree, pretty dumb. If it were day 29 and the person was physically/mentally exhausted and ready to tap, I get it. But they've been there 3 days.

Totally agree. The guy was walking down the path disgusted that he got voted off, then a sign says you are not done if you don't want to be. So he thinks about it. Dude you were just complaining that your game had ended and now it has not ended. I am not even sure why there is an option. Just go get on the boat.

I am interested on how they are going to do this Edge of Extinction thing. Is it just going to be like the old way to get back into the game except they are making it eerie?

This is exactly what I thought. Then again, there is no way he's going to last at Edge of Extinction.

I'm wondering if sometime later in the game, maybe even after the merge, they'll re-introduce the tribe of discards that's formed on the edge of extinction island to compete against those who haven't yet been voted out.

The fact that he had to even think about it says he should not go there. He was upset about being voted off but had to waffle on a decision to stay in the game? Yeah they voted the right person off last night even if it meant they had to wait for another time to blindside Wentworth. Even if he does wind up choosing to go to Extinction Island I bet he raises the white flag before he gets a chance to get back in the game. Just seems like one minute he wants to play the game then the next he's not so sure.

Our question is, do they go to the same "edge"? Or do they have a series of little atolls that they are using to keep them all separate?

This is what I was wondering last night too. It would be so much more entertaining as well as challenging if they all have their own stranded island they have to survive on until their chance comes.

There is no reason why anyone voted out pre-merge should choose to end the game unless they have a physical issue or just mentally can't handle the game anymore. You know that if any of the 4 returning players gets voted out soon they sure as heck won't choose to go home.

I do like the mentality of the new players so far. I've always felt you don't let returning players go too far because they've already had their chance to win the game and failed so why should you allow them to take your 1st chance at it away? Use them to a point then chop them off before the merge. Of the 4 I think David has the best shot at blending in and making it to the merge. He nearly got voted out week 1 of his first season and really grew as a player as the season progressed and so far he's making the most of his 2nd chance in the game. Developing the right relationships but not playing too hard. Wentworth and Aubrey to me are playing too hard already and the new players see it. Joe is just screwed regardless because he was a physical threat from the start so he has a target on his back regardless of his social game. David so far to me just seems to have balanced all aspects fairly well so far of the 4 returning players and not done anything too aggressive to put a target on his back.

Why does this question make me a tool, @CYdTracked ?

Edit: you are apparently one of the few that uses that reaction icon to actually mean "useful", rather than meaning "you are a tool"!

Yeah they really idolized the past players. I am not sure why people act like the past players are soooo awesome. I mean if I showed up and it was the Jimmy Johnson season. I might be like holy crap it's jimmy Johnson. However, past survivor players are not celebrity's or something. None of those people actually even won the game before.
I think the worst example is when Boston Rob came on and everyone blindly followed him all the way to him wining a million dollars. I couldn't believe they didn't get rid of him at the last vote.

That one has to go down as number one in the annals of "what the hell were they thinking" Survivor seasons.

I will say at least of the 4 players they brought back none of them are really villains or polarizing personalities. I never was much of a fan of Joe or Wentworth in their seasons but it's not like I hated them either. David and Aubrey I liked because both were awkward to begin their seasons but really changed as the season played out and turned into strong players after it looked like both were prime candidates to be voted out early so I kind of am interested to see how they fair this season with more confidence from the start and the experience of playing before.

I'm glad they showed a couple minutes of how extinction island will work after tribal. I thought maybe they'd use that as the cliff hanger for each week wondering if the player chose to stay in the game or go home. Couldn't tell much from the short, dark clips but looks like at least Reem had a few things there to get started on a shelter and she at least had fire with the torch. I also wonder if there will be any kind of hidden idols or advantages out there. Are they going to be required to do any kind of task or challenges out there? Just a lot of unknowns right now and at what point will whoever gets to come back from extinction island re-enter the game. Guessing it will be post-merge. Also will be interesting to see if anyone chooses not to go there. Early on I think most players will choose to go there because no one likes being voted out early but there are always players that after about 10 days just want to quit too. Like I said earlier this new twist to the game intrigues me the most for this season as there are so many question and possibilities on how it will play out.
I kind of wonder if it will be similar to redemption island.

Boston Rob was a master that season. He was basically like the director of the game and told people what the rules were and they all said ok. Probably the best game anyone has ever played. Russell hantz first season was the best game play ever, he just was to cocky to win it and made people hate him. He was three steps ahead of everyone that whole season.

For the past few seasons I've been wanting them to find a way to avoid the merge, or at least wait to do it until much much later. The merge has gotten to be something that's predictable and expected, players strategy revolving around just making it to the merge. I think it'd be great to throw this curveball at them, would be completely unexpected.

I agree, there was 1 season where 1 tribe got decimated to just 2 people and the merge was when Stephanie was the last member left on her tribe. Would be nice if they'd quit doing these tribe swaps so early too and just let a tribe get decimated like that some season. Seems like anymore if 1 tribe goes to tribal 2 or 3 times in a row "drop your buffs! we're switching things up." It would be more entertaining if they were left wondering when the merge is coming or if they are going to swap tribes to even the numbers out. There is no social theme for this season so let them play it out till they get to a certain unknown number to merge at.
