CSP always sounds like he knows what he is talking about after the game

This is the same **** as with Rhoads. When people started to criticize him it came with extreme blowback because he was very liked by a lot of the fan base. It took him blowing several games in close succession to finally reverse the tide. And now look where the football team is.

What is the breaking point for Prohm?
I have thought the same way. I go back to the Purdue game. He has an interview where he admits he was just waiting for the team to improve and when they didn't, he made a change in the second half after they were down 20.
My thinking is expectation. If he keeps this team around middle of the conference and consistent round of 32 team, will there be enough pressure to pursue a new coach? Do people want and expect more than that?

Different standards for different programs and different sports.
So when in Iowa State's history has it been a sustained championship program besides....never?

This team would get it's ass kicked by any of Fred's Iowa State teams not including the first and Prohm's first ISU team. It's going to end up with a record similar to any of those teams. This team could be an AIB team, this team could be playing in the Sweet 16.

Rhoads couldn’t get big 12 talent to come play for him... could barely even win games towards the end. Prohm on the other hand has been getting great recruits and I do believe we have an amazing set of young talent, which is a great building block for the next 2 years. Prohm has room to improve and being swept by Baylor and TCU should not be the norm... this has caused me to start doubting him a bit, but I am far from calling for his head. Let’s see how his players develop over the next two years, I have a feeling we will have great years. If it goes down hill then yeah let’s look into anew coach.

I'd say if this team crashes and burns and then next season is similar.

Not sure what to think...he does a lot of things on the grander scheme that are great.
So... cratering? Complete and total bottom out of the program and hand off an couch fire mess to a new guy.

And I agree. He does a lot really well. And he is a respectable and upstanding person. He just doesn’t do a very good job of in game coaching and doesn’t seem to have any coaching flexibility to fit his players.

I expected the offense to look rough during big 12 play. 5 of the other 9 teams in the B12 were Top 10 in Kenpom Defensive Efficiency at the start of the big 12 season. And that didn’t include a couple of well coached defensive teams in WVU and TCU. The rebounding is a huge disappointment to me. We don’t match up with teams toughness wise.

This isn’t me defending Prohm, but he’s going nowhere unless he misses the NCAA tourney for a couple years straight.

He got his “excuse” year after the rebuild from 4 senior starters graduating and has us back in NCAA tournament even if we all are disappointed with the current trajectory.

I just wish he would get one of these NBA point guards he was claimed to be all about.

And what do we specialize in? Our offense is lethal. I could be wrong but I believe we lead the league in offensive efficiency. I'm going to guess our defensive efficiency is less than great.

Listen, if you ignore OkState, Prohm is easily the least experienced coach in the league and it’s not even close. Perhaps it’s a wash with Shaka, but he spent his assistant career at the major level.

So, it’s not really that surprising that he gets out-coached from time to time. Luckily he’s kept recruiting at a high level. He needs to continue to learn.

That’s all we can hope for...

Ya know, I completely agree with this assessment, however this is one of the main reason's why people like myself weren't happy with the hire to begin with. Pollard even admitted he got the job because he ran a similar style and didn't want to disrupt the style of play for all the good players Hoiberg left.

Though I don’t think prohm is a good coach.... like at all.. there are a bunch of good underclass men on this team and they look good enough to compensate for what he lacks for years to come.
so pretty much it will just average out every year no matter how good the talent

I wouldn’t call the offense lethal...streaky at best most night closer to skid marks.

Newsflash; it's not going to be as fragile as you clearly want it to be.

The home losses are frustrating, I get it. Close road losses suck too. But at this point there is still likely a 90% chance we'll make the tournament, and from there, who knows what can happen?

If you honestly think Prohm deserves to be fired after a season (or that the question should even be asked) in which we make the tournament, after winning a grand total of 13 games the previous season because we didn't win the Big 12 regular season title (since no coach after LE has done that), you are out of your damn skull, and there's no other way I can put that.

The most conference games we've won in recent years is 12, this team will finish about average for us. Bunch of drama queens on this board

I'm confused with your line of thinking. From 2012 -2017 we averaged 11.3 wins per season. Are we going to end up with more than that? Even if you add in last years 4 win season, which i think is an statistical outlier, we averaged over 10 wins per season. So are we going to end up with more than that? with the way things are going that looks doubtful.

I dont understand why you aren't allowed to criticize prohm and point out how much he is underachieving without being called a drama queen?
