Babb getting 39 minutes is the real tragedy. How are we so reliant on this man? Let Haliburton bring it up the floor while Babb gets a breather. Prohm needs to look big picture and start changing things up even if it costs us a game or two.

I expressed concern a month ago that the starters had played way too many minutes since game 1 and all I did was get blasted. We have all this depth and Prohm would rather run his starters into the ground instead of play Talley and Lewis.

Plus THT always looks gassed and out of shape. I knew if we kept playing 6 guys we were going to see some fatigue this time of year.

I and others have received crap this year for suggesting PRohm has flaws. It is becoming clear to many of these flaws. I would genuinely like to hear from anyone that thinks Prohm is still a coach above criticism and that we should all question whether or not he is right for the job.
This. I don’t want to dump 9 years in on a guy and still be wondering if he a good coach or not.

When you under achieve and are getting paid millions, you should be criticized.

It could be worse I guess... imagine if we didn’t have top tier talent. Currently Prohm needs that much talent to be 5th or 6th place. Say we only had middle of the pack talent... do we even win a game in the big12?

Hate it all you want, but name one coach in the big 12 who is hands down worse than Prohm? Probably too early to tell on Boynton at OSU, but even his team has played good games this year with extreme limitations. Every other coach is at least on par with Prohm but arguably better.

Or name one season where his ISU team exceeded expectations?

Prohm has to be 10th right now. Boyton has absolutely nothing to work with and his teams are still competitive. I think he's a solid coach and will have them back to respectability soon.

He's never been above criticism, and is deserving of it.

It's been when posters act like he's the first coach to lose weird games at ISU or that a conference title is some sort of normal thing that's the problem.

But you're right, there are some trends that definitely deserve to be questioned.
Agreed. We as humans don't always look at the whole picture. Watching #16 Florida State, who is 21-5 now. Same team that got undressed by a bad BC team earlier this year. IT happens, But this is consistent since he got here.

Is the talent rated based on what you think it is or what experts think it is? We're going to the tournament and we'll exceed 20 wins but you're right - probably the worst team in the history of basketball.

Midol and a whine cooler might be your best options today.

Lmao, you realize we beat those 3 teams right? This just another "woe is me" excuse on why this team and coaching staff are underperforming. Pathetic!
You know why Kansas always wins the league? Because they might have 2 off nights in conference play where they just plain get beat. Otherwise they're consistently in every game and if it's close at the end, chances are they have better players than you and better coaching than you do and you're in trouble.

Kansas State has a senior laden team that again, is consistent.

Texas Tech's biggest question mark is can they score enough to win games but they're consistently in games because their defense is....consistent!

People wanted to believe this was the year for ISU to compete because Kansas is vulnerable. There isn't a team Iowa State can't beat by hitting 50% of their 3s. Problem is you aren't always going to do that. We struggle to survive the games we don't. We've won some games we've shot poorly (Tech) but lost a hell of a lot more.

He built the team on the premise that Solomon Young would be available. That plan is scratched and it becomes a limited roster in that regard.

Would it really be that different? Perhaps Halliburton or THT doesn’t earn a starting spot if Solomon is around.

Don't care anymore honestly, I told you guys 4 years ago this coaching staff was one of the worst in the conference. When you have the 9th best coach with the most talented team you get 5th place finishes.

Link?

Prohm definitely has issues like any coach. Honestly, my biggest concern and issue the offense. It's so bland and boring. Not saying he needs to invent some new explosive concept. But the offense we run to get things started is the same thing almost every time, and it's so easy to defend, especially when our fundamentals like screening and cutting hard off of screens is so bad. How many hand offs have we gotten stolen this year or disrupted with ease because we run the exact same set to get things rolling? We don't have much to create easy shots for our guys it seems. So that's why it literally does come down to making shots or not with this team. In the end, we have to start making some of these open looks, but some creativity would be nice.

BS!!! He wasn't even running 2 bigs in practice so who knows how much Young would have even played. You probably would have had Jacobson going for 20-25 and the other 3 bigs splitting the remaining time even though they are better defenders than him.

I don't think he's above criticism. This is the type of road game ISU has played for years. The head scratcher is winning on the road and then losing games at home the way we have. Do you think 2 for 20 3 point shooting has anything to do with it today at least?
Absolutely it does and why s it the case? We don't run a smooth offense and this team relies on them too much? We have guys like NWB that maybe shouldn't be shooing some of them? The last shoot by THT was perfect example of an offense not being ready. No play or anything. I will keep saying that the kids are playing, but the coach puts them in a position to be successful or not.

This is stupid. If you consistently finish in 5th you’ve got the 5th best coach.
Not sure if serious, stupid, or sarcastic.

If serious... do you think a KU coach who finished in 5th place 3 years in a row would be considered the 5th best coach? Or TCU when they first came into the league finishing in 5th 3 years in a row? It’s apples and watermelons.

I’m pretty sure the plan was always to have THT starting. I don’t even know if they kept some of the two-big stuff from last year in the scheme for if Solomon was around.

Lol, what about the last 3 weeks of basketball give you any indication we are winning out? This team is gutless with a coach in over his head.

Is there any such thing as a gutless road win in this conference? Can we be a gutless 20+ win team? A gutless tourney entrant?
