Even during the Cael days, I dont remember meets being this fun to watch. Maybe it's just because we have been bad for so long that it makes it that much more exciting to go to duals. What makes this even better is we are only in year 2 of the rebuild, which means things should get even better.

You can also start to see the excitement between and among teammates, and how they each seem to be picking each other up and driving improvement across the lineup. The pins by Mackall and Gomez and Parker’s major last night were great examples. There was no doubt that theese performances contrubuted to Degen’s pin. We are also seeing consistent high level performances across the roster—everyone showing up and winning matches we should win. This stuff comes from the top, and is similar to what went on at VaTech once Dresser got it rolling. This is one of the reasons that Big 12’s and especially Nationals under Dresser over the years are likely to be REALLY fun for the fans.

Agree with all these points. You can definitely feel that these guys are bought in up and down the lineup. Dare I say it looks like they’re having fun out there, encouraging each other and feeding off the home crowds. Side note, I think the home crowds have been very good and only expect them to continue to grow over the next few years.

I’m really excited to add Carr to the lineup next year. You have a guy that can be a high AA/champ contender. Starting to think that this team could be a top 10 team next year with 3-5 AAs.

Straw started things off. He got the first takedown and rode it to a decisive victory. Not tentative. Then true freshman Mulder got the pin over a senior from SDSU. Colbray got the win over pretty good wrestler. Mackall ran up a 14 to 0 lead but was not content and went for the Fall and got it. Likewise Parker had the victory well in hand but was still making takedowns at the end of the third period. I've never seen such domination from this team.

The announcer (TomK.) said that John Smith said that the Cyclones were the best team they had wrestled all year.
