I wonder if it's my same inside source that says Pollard has setup a one game playoff with Ankeny High School. Early line is Ankeny by 5 1/2. I predict a 2nd *** whipping of the Clowns at the hands of the Hawks.
Your first two posts have been so impressive. Must make you feel pretty big to go to the fan boards of teams your team beats and make stupid remarks huh? What? It makes you feel older, like 14 or so?

Haha come on, 15 at least! Before too long he'll be drinking, sparking up doobies, watching porn, commiting crimes, and........uh oh, in the pen with the rest of the hawk fans of that nature. I commend DJK and Southern for being mature.

The Big 10 is that bad for Iowa to win. Iowa matches up well with Wisconsin because of the awful old school offense Wisconsin runs. Iowa will not win the Big 10, but it is plausible. This is not an endorsement of how good Iowa is, but how bad the Big 10 is.

My conference rankings through three weeks:

7. Big East (Tied)
7. MAC
6. Mountain West
5. ACC
4. Big 10
3. Pac 10 (Before Big 10 homers yell at me, you are 0-3 vs. them)
2. Big 12
1. SEC

The Big 10 is 1-3 vs the Pac-10. Penn State beat Oregon State (badly).

Also, the Mountain West is 5-0 against the Pac-10. How can you possibly say the Pac-10 is better than the Mountain West?

Personally, I dont think Jon Miller and DJK are that far off base with their prediction of Iowa sneaking in for a shot at the title, or at least a share of it. The Big 10 looks to be straight up horrible this year! The Hawks miss out on one of the two legit top 25 teams, tOSU. They get Wisconsin at home. Why not? The Hawks Defense is no joke (even though the Clones held Iowa to less yards so I would like to think ours is pretty good too). They will be able to win some ugly, low scoring games this year.

Iowa's defense has given up a total of 6 points in 3 games. I don't care who you've played, that's impressive. Iowa's defense will keep them in every game this season. If the offense is at least average, I like their chances.

I agree with a lot of the posting on this. Is Iowa a top 10 team, NO WAY. Could they win the big 10 this year. With their schedule, the tough games being at home, and the fact that the running game will be good enough to score them some points, and that if one of the QB's gets hot they do have good receivers to go to, they have a shot. I don't see it happening but they have a shot.

I also agree that it reflects the state of Big 10 football, as Hawk teams 4 + years ago were legitimately very good teams, the offense on the current hawk team couldn't hold their Jocks.:wideeyed:

Wherever I go, there I am.
ISU scored 3 points. I could care less how many yards they gave up. There's a reason ISU couldn't score 6 in the redzone, and it has nothing to do with play-calling or refs.

NOTHING to do with play-calling? I'm certainly willing to admit that the Iowa defense was a factor, but you lose all credibility when you rule out play-calling as a factor.

Yes, Iowa won a game in bad weather conditions. It is a lot harder to play in crappy conditions than it is in good ones. By Cyclone fan logic, that means that Auburn sucks because they beat Mississippi St. 3-2 in poor weather conditions. Am I right?

Iowa's defense didn't keep them in THIS game. 4 missed field goals and bad play calling inside the 5...but I guess you guys call that defense huh?

How can anyone even listen to his show? I'll never understand his fan club on this website. He's not a closet clone fan, he's snide towards clones on the radio.......it's almost like some people are "star struck" by him and think he's a celebrity. I don't get it. I just don't listen. Period. Nothing good comes of it, ever.

QFT - Listening to Jon Miller is like buying anything from Kum and Go ultimately it will end up benefiting the Hawks - so why do it?

We gave up more points, more rushing yards, and more passing yards to both Kent State and South Dakota State. Iowa got a whopping 10 points on offense against us -- at home. Their defense will keep them in some games, but their offense isn't anywhere good enough for them to do much better than .500, let alone win the conference.

But what the hell...it's fun when Miller gets his little brethren of kool-aid drinking followers all puffed up, it make the meltdown more awesome when reality sets in.

Look at the way Michigan and tOSU are playing, combine that with the fact that Iowa gets Wisconsin and PSU at home. You have to admit that it's a very possible scenario.

Nobody expected a lot out of Michigan this year, it will take some time to get used to new coaches and playbooks.

Tosu still might be the cream of the crop in your conference, they just got walloped by a Trojan team that might go 8-8 in the No Fun League.

I do beleive that Wisconsin and Penn State are better that Iowa right now, but it's early.

Iowa can improve and injuries could slow other teams.

I, for one, hope Iowa wins the big 10/11/123 whatever they're calling it this year. But if they do, you'd better hope it's because they rose to the level of their competition and not the other way around.

Our opponents successes only make us look better,

And I had a chili dog for lunch. What do Auburn and Georgia have to with anything? The weather for the game favored Iowa, at least from the way I see it. How much is hard to determine. But it is part of the game.

If Iowa wins the Big 10 title this year, rape will no longer be considered a crime inside the city limits of Iowa City (if it is now anyway).

He already says that Iowa has a chance to "sneak one this year" referring to winning the Big 10. I can tell you flat out that Ricky Stanzi or Jake Christensen are not going to lead you to a Big 10 title. Maybe if Arvell Nelson gets out of jail he could come back and lead the Hawks to the promised land this year.

I thought Jon gave up drinking.

You do realize that we have not won a conference title since 1912 given all of the excuses out there...easy OOC schedule, no Texas or OU, rain, crappy fields, drain tiles, wind, Big 12 officials, felons, speed, lack of speed, winning the 2nd half, hail mary's, Mangino's weight, Hayden's white pants, the fans leaving at half time, the fans not coming in until 5:00 gone in the 1st quarter, etc.

Jon can talk all he wants. It is not out of the realm of possibility. A conference title is a conference title.
