Apart from being hilarious what b*tches Brian Ferentz and Tom Herman are it makes no sense...we're casting a wide net and accepting commitments. So what's the problem exactly? When we start pulling scholarships it'll be a problem.

You're goddamed right we offer top talent. Matt Campbell believes he has a top program.

His problem is likely with teams like Iowa State offering up all the talent early, then when he gets around to them they already have a bunch of offers and feel loyalty to those that were there in the beginning. Herman just wants to have his pick of Texas kids and then be able to swoop in and get whatever he wants later as well.

This staff is putting in WORK and identifying talent early. Teams like Texa$$ as iowa think it's unfair.

The early signing period is going to cause lots of people at blue blood schools to ***** and moan. Their salty tears are delicious.

If Herman isn't down with The Process I got two words for him

Put Herman in a state like Iowa where the in state recruiting pool is so small and you'll see him offer a lot more kids from all over. Herman just has to offer the guys from Texas that he wants and a few out of state guys.

Hell, Herman was HERE. He actually knows how hard it is to recruit to Iowa State. Pretty sure he complained about not having enough talent to run his offensive system.

Funny thing is Brian Ferentz already beat him to this line a long time ago so he's just recycling old news. Tom should know as well as anyone since he once was on the ISU staff just how hard it is to recruit a kid to ISU compared to schools like Ohio State and Texas or really a majority of power 5 programs in general. Those 2 names alone carry a lot of weight with recruits because of the prestige and tradition those programs have. We don't have that kind of history at ISU so yeah we probably have to cast a wide net with our offers because in general we probably get a lot higher rejection rate with the upper end recruits than schools like Texas would. If we didn't do that then we probably would be really limited with the number of quality players we are able to sign and we don't have the luxury of having a lot of returning depth most years to be missing out on guys that would improve our program.

Hopefully Campbell keeps this program trending in the right direction and there will be a day when they don't have to make as many offer because ISU has become a destination for top talent to go to. Until then F-O to any coach that uses this line that we over-offer to recruits. I'm guessing they like to use that line because we probably signed a few guys they had interest in and don't like the added competition on the recruiting trail.

Sure, and and in the old days and even still ISU does UT's scouting work for them. Well f*ck that. Tom can do his own scouting work and make offers before we do.

I was in Austin last week. The facilities weather, things to do in that town, scenery, money, and tradition make it so Texas doesn't need to dip down below 4 stars often to fill a roster. Not really the same deal as Ames.

Furthermore, I don't understand all these people making fun of ISU for offering so many schollies. We've been pretty poor in football for most of our history......why not try a new approach?

The new approach is working on recruiting and on the field. Tom is worried. He is lucky we had a meltdown at qb this year. Kempt with his cooler than the other side of the pillow attitude may have gutted those heifers.

Fear. The fat cats want the status quo. Which means they want you to play by their rules since they control the power dynamic.

The fact he even commented on it shows it has had an impact on them or fear it might. So he needs to try to put lowly ISU in its place.
