I it has to be an updated tornado so be it. But it has to be a usable logo. The I-State just isn't good a helmet. Think Longhorn, Powercat, Spartan. A monochromatic easily recognizable LOGO.

I like the socks incorporating the Jack Trice stripes. However, some players don't wear long socks (some where the leggings basketball players use under their pants). Curious if that would affect the overall look of the jersey?
Maybe incorporating the Jack Trice stripes on the pants (not the entire length, but higher up on the leg) would have the same effect?
The coaches seem to like the tornado.

No I love the tornado. I love walking Cy. I love the I state logo...
However, I don't think you have to limit yourself to choosing one to go on the helmet. My comment was directly related to the side of the helmet logo.
I think we will retain our current red/yellow.

I am thinking more like the O-State logo. M for Minnesota. W for Wisconsin. NC logo for North Carolina. N for Nebraska. O for Oregon. Etc., etc. Far more recognizable Letter Logos that are classics versus what you are suggesting. Success on the field is the biggest issue facing any logo. That is our biggest issue. IMO the I-State logo had gone over much better than previous attempts.
I think Texas Longhorns fans would describe their logo as a classic. And Oregon and Wisconsin's logos aren't even as old as the Tigerhawk. Not sure if you've noticed but oSu uses Pistol Pete often now. But none of that matters if you can't read what the logo is supposed to say which is the case for the I-State logo. As a patch or on a t-shirt it's great but it's way too busy on helmet. The I by itself would work much better than spelling out state over it.

It's not a good logo. There is a reason most logos don't have all this text which is it's hard to read.
