So, does that mean Bruce is on his way out as well? Like a new AD, gets to bring in his own guy, situation?

Too bad he's not taking your basketball coach with. Maybe the new guy will rid of him.

So is this good or bad Surly? Is this the AD that oversaw the renovations at Snyder stadium? Not trying to be a jerk just don't know that much about your AD.

I would think that Bruce is more likely to last another year. They won't get a new guy in there before April, I wouldn't think.

Nice bump up to bigger program, and don't have to worry about watching football return to the toilet once Barnabas retires.

John Currie has been on several 'final' lists including Texas and Florida. So, it's not surprising he's leaving for Tennessee, where he was an assistant before coming to Manhattan. UT has a new president. She has a ton of compliance issues facing her in the athletic department. Currie is noted as a no-nonsense administrator in that area. I'm sure that was amongst his strongest assets in landing the job.

I hope and believe Laird Veatch will get the A.D. position down here. LV played for Bill Snyder. He spent time at Missouri and ISU before coming back to Manhattan several years ago. He's been the man behind fund raising efforts that resulted in the renovated stadium and new basketball training facility. Since he's close to Snyder, a football guy by training, and second in command to Currie, it would seem he's a cinch, assuming he wants the job.

His name also sounds like a Star Wars bad guy. Not the top bad guy. Maybe like the right hand man to the top bad guy. Still pretty bad, just not bad enough that he gets killed by the main hero. Like Captain Phasma in Force Awakens.

That seems about right for an athletic program like KSU.

Sounds like someone who would get choked out by Darth Vader for losing Skywalker... again.

"You've failed me for the last time Admiral Veatch."

Trying to decide if Snyder is Vader or Tarkin in that scenario. It's a tough choice.

Don't blame the guy at all. Get out before you're responsible for hiring Bill Snyders replacement. Genius really.

That's a good point. The next AD is going to have to make some tough decisions within the next few years of being on the job.
