Breaking a 51 game streak at Kansas isn't cancelled out by this, jfc.

I'm just going by what Naz said yesterday. He said they had to take the momentum from the KU win and win at Texas or else the win at KU will have meant nothing. I was actually really glad he said that, and it's true in a sense.

Obviously the win at KU will help our resume more than the loss at Texas will hurt it, but I still agree with what Naz said.

We ran zero offense the first half. One and done. Live by the 3 die by the 3. Regress back to hero ball.

We are going to be in for some serious pain during Prohms tenure. This is was a very winnable game and the dude again did not have his team prepared to start well.
We're a jump shooting team that's always going to be streaky. No amount of coaching can fix good looks not falling (we did take some boneheaded shots but we also missed a BUNCH of good looks).

Toss in an opponent hell bent on pounding the ball inside (without a doubt our biggest weakness) and it's a nasty combination if you aren't shooting the rock well.

Those Tech teams werent near as bad as Texas. Everyone thinks they were because it was Tech but they at least had .500 records when we lost to them. Texas is 9-13.
Wrong, the Tech team That beat ISU Georges' FR year was 11-20 and 3-15 in conference. The next year they were 14-18 and also beat ISU. They were terrible and unlike this Texas team had no talent. But yes , this Texas team is trash too. Talented but the team still stinks.

That KU win is huge on the resume, but we still have to win games like tonight's or we won't end up with enough wins to even be considered for the tourney. I'd say 5 more wins is what we need.
If we are 9-9 in conference we are in. And I don't see anyway we end up worse than 10-8

leaves Bowie in who got trash points off of defensive lapse that Texas had.. And in prohms mind he was riding the hot hand... We gave up easy points and fouls while he was in.

At 14-9 (6-5), we have to win a minimum of 4 of our last 7 games to go dancing. Our only good wins are against fellow bubble teams and @KU. The win in Lawrence might be enough for us to get in at 17-13 if we win a game in KC, but we'd be in the First Four. We're lucky the bubble is so terrible this year. 18-12 (10-8), we are in. That means we probably have to win out at home...which includes OSU, TCU, and Baylor. We also didn't blow Oklahoma out of the water in the first game. There's not a comfortable win left. The guys just can't put it all together for 40 minutes. Even on Saturday, we didn't. Still not sure how we won that one, but I'll take it.

This is also our worst RPI loss of the year, by far. Doesn't matter how athletic/talented/tall Texas is. They have not put together a good season, and just gave us a really bad loss. I know KenPom has them much higher, but the committee is still using RPI as the main evaluator. We just dropped 7 spots with this loss.

I was really hoping we could dig our way out of the 8-9 or 7-10 game, maybe win 5 or 6 of the last 8. Hoped we had turned a corner after Saturday. We just might...by getting an 11 seed. Where was the urgency we needed? Where was the hustle? Consistently inconsistent. But we keep watching, because we are all masochists.

No, they're very athletic and have the ability to beat anyone if they put it together and the other team isn't hitting. Hence tonight. ISU is NOT as athletic and generally plays very well despite their deficiencies.

9-14 is a bad record...Shaka had the advantage of playing some very young but talented players all year to cut their teeth. They have the ability to put it together just like OU did at WV a few weeks ago. OU could very easily win in Hilton Saturday.

Gonna be raining on this site.

Lol, whatever helps you sleep tonight. I dont care how athletic they are, they are terrible. If only something like records gave an indication of how good teams were, 9-13 is pathetic. This is the worst Big 12 loss since Hoibergs first year.

No we get into the dance because of the KU win.

Don't be too sure about that. This team will have trouble getting up for nearly every game we have left, except for Baylor.
They don't care and don't show up when we play teams we're favored to beat. Nothing ticks me off more than teams that do that. It means that you aren't a team of "winners". I still believe Monte is, but I'm not sure about anyone else?

Winners want to win every game they play in. They want to win at everything they do, no matter what the competition is or who they are playing in front of. That is NOT this team. Sorry, it just isn't.

Lmao at some of the posters trying to spin Texas as a good team. That was a pathetic loss to a pathetic team, way worse than Iowa and Vanderbilt. They dont even have Mack playing and we still lose.

On to the next one I guess, maybe well get to 9-9 like 5 other Big 12 teams and still make the tourney.
Texas is 30 spots higher than Iowa, and Gibbs more talent. Both losses suck, but definitely not on the same level.
