Oh, and assuming we win out in the non-conference, we'd have a Vanderbilt win. Assuming that, I'd say 9-9 in the Big 12 puts us around a 6-7, 10-8 puts us around a 5-6 and 11-7 probably a 4 or solid 5.

Vandy is, let's say, disappointing. It should probably be a win, but not a win that does anything for us other than avoiding a loss.

I know we didn't choose Vandy, but we scheduled ourselves to fail this time.
These guys can turn it around for Big 12 play, but that's not real common.

Vanderbilt is 4-3 with losses to Bucknell and Marquette. They will not be the good win we need.

Don't know what you really mean. Turn what around? They are still a very good team regardless of the loss. They are top 30 in Ken Pom so they are doing some things right. It's not like they are playing like Iowa.

Seriously. We lost. It wasn't good.

But it isn't the end of the world. If we get better, we will go to the NCAA. If we don't, we won't.

Last night didn't change that.

Noncon at this point is nothing but danger. Losing to any of these teams left puts us in danger. This is why losing home games is such a big deal.

20 win squad getting you a #3 or
That's been good enough for a 3 & 4 seed the past two years. This isn't the early 2000's things work differently with the tourney now. The final record is basically meaningless.

Only 1 squad was a 3 or 4 seed last year with less than 23 wins. We were a #4 with 21 wins. But we had a much better out of conference record.

We had 8 wins against Kenpom top 150 in the non-conference last year. If we run the table in the out of conference this year we will have four. Not getting a 4 seed with a 20-10 record this year.

Those teams had RPI rankings in the top 20 heading into B12 play, were most likely going to be in the 80's or higher entering B12 play this year.

Miami and Iowa are probably both bubble teams best case. Assuming we beat Iowa, we will probably have only one non-con win over tourney teams.

Agreed. Remember last year when Prohm last 3 of 4 to start the Conference season, yeah, the sky was falling on the season then too, but they still made it to a sweet 16. Lets just calm down people.

Sure, and I can see who those opponents were, and I can also see that we had a strong tournament resume already.
Not the same deal here. We have no tournament resume right now and the noncon part that could help that is over.

You actually get credit for playing and losing to good teams. Losing to Gonzaga by two on a neutral court goes on your resume.
