In before the kool-aid drinkers on here say this won't affect us at all because he's 2nd string.

Just like when Jordan Harris left, people were on here saying he had dropped to 2nd string so losing him would be no big deal.

BS. All these losses hurt. Guys never play an entire game anymore. 2nd stringers and even 3rd stringers see quite a bit of action, and need to. This will hurt.

"What?!?! People aren't saying what I want them to say so I can argue with them about it?! Let me just go plant the seed so I can coax them out by saying something about what I want them to say."

No hurry to start a career, once you start it seems to never end.

I think he does that because people used to attack him saying he was stating his opinions as fact. No win for him I guess.

There isn't any "win" for anyone on here these days. Pretty much everyone will attack everyone else on here for anything they say. It's how most of America is these days. Explains the state of our country very well.

See I look at it from the opposite side, why not stay in school (free since on scholarship), play football and have fun before you have to start a real career? Think Van Wilder.

Yeah that's what I would do. Another free year of being a football player in college and you would probably have a really easy schedule. Sounds fun to me. To each their own though

We aren't going to win or lose a game because of him. This loss doesn't hurt. Losing Harris was a big blow, losing White isn't.

I'm sure there are two sides of it, and I can certainly see that side. You definitely see more guys stick with it, I'm assuming for this reason, than go this route. That gets me back to my original point that it is a bit of a surprise more don't do this.

Just losing him might not, but the cumulative effect of losing him, Jordan Harris, Knott, Peters, etc, etc definitely might lead to a loss or 2, or 8.

You do realize that it is perfectly within the rules to replace players that leave with other players, correct?

Agreed, I recently graduated early and regret it every day. Seeing my friends having fun while I'm slaving away in the working world is no fun!

Not sure I would call summer conditioning "fun," especially if I was seeing my playing time evaporate.

No doubt on this. Unless you are starting a business or on the executive track enjoy life before you have too much overhead.

No problem - just bring in more Jucos to represent Iowa State University on the gridiron. I think the Cyclone roster this season, Rhoads and Campbell recruits combined, will have more jucos than any other P5 program in the nation. It might not even be close. Lots of student athletes with 2 to 3 years of maturity and physical development under their belts, ready to slap on a jersey and contribute immediately. As was stated in a previous thread, "It's a good culture for transfers and jucos".

C'mon Ribs, I was kinda getting to like you. You can find it on Scout, which lists signed recruits for each team for each year, and breaks them down by conference offense/defense/special teams/highSchool/juco. I can not verify Scout's accuracy, or whether it is absolutely current for the class of 2016. You will see that the B12 (10 teams) trails only the P12 (12 teams) in total jucos for the combined years 15 and 16. 81/82. The B10 (14 teams) had a total of 32 for that same time period. The B12 (10 teams) blew every other P5 conf out of the water in 2014 with a whopping 52 jucos. Runner-up was the SEC (14 teams) with 36. B10 (14 teams) had 20.

As for being a Squawk Dbag, The Tavern Hoks signed 2 in 2014, 0 in 2015, and 0 in 2016. I guess this is just more evidence as to why the B10 and the Squawks in particular, suck so bad. The conference in general really needs to loosen up it's academic admission standards for athletes in the money sports.
