Seven guys had more minutes than Georges on his own team, but he still led them in scoring. Not too shabby!

Diallo looks like a real player so far. Must've just never been able to feel comfortable at KU.

Diallo looks great in pick up games like he did last year in the all star games. Problem is he lacks zero bball IQ on either end of the floor. That's what kept him out of games. He didn't know the offensive plays or what to do on defense. But he runs the floor great and is athletic and has a high motor.

Nice showing for Georges with a top performance in 5x5.
Stay on the radar and get his chance to show his game in camp.

@chadfordinsider Robert Carter Jr. (22 pts 7 rebs), Cheick Diallo (18 pts, 4 rebs), AJ English (22 pts, 4 asts), Georges Niang (20 pts) standouts in 1st game

Full stats for Niang. I think we've all seen simular lines from him.

@ scottdochterman Niang was 8 of 12 for 20 points in 20 minutes. He had 3 assists, 3 rebounds, 5 fouls, 4 turnovers & 1 steal.

This has been fun to watch. Georges is playing exactly like we've seen and still dominating on offense (also has given up some points on the other end). Amazing that a guy like Skal Labassiere, who clearly is an inferior player to Niang, will be drafted in the top 10.

Skal will most likely be a better NBA player, that's why. That said, there's a place in the NBA for Niang.

Word is Skal held a private workout for teams yesterday and absolutely destroyed it. 7 foot players that can pass and shoot are in demand, he just needs to grow into his body and get some NBA coaching. At least that is what scouts are telling their GM/Coaches. Ford tweeted earlier he is projecting him in the lottery now.

Are the scrimmages available online somewhere? I got home from work when gorgeous Georges scrimmage was wrapping up.

Two questions: What does the +/- indicate in the box score? And for someone who watched the scrimmage - why didn't Seldon get any minutes?

Obviously I was joking about firing the NBA Combine coach...

Labassiere can kill it all he wants in workouts. Did anyone watch him this season? He was a mess. If he's that timi against Mississippi State, what's he going to do in the NBA? Obviously, he has time to develop, but there's no way I'm picking him that high if I'm an NBA GM. You're looking at two years minimum before he can contribute.

Wrong. Warren's dad was contacted by Peterson for the story, which according to the article, was the product of RP watching the draft. Warren's dad doesn't mention 2,000 yards and is probably simply answering RP's questions.

I love the line, "Warren isn't on any 2017 mock drafts." Yet leave it to Randy to daydream about the possibility and consider it worthy of publication. 2000 yards? Sure, throw that in there too. Oh, and then projecting Tucker as a surefire draft pick. It's ISU fluff, plain and simple.

The article says:

Even if Mike Warren rushes for 2,000 yards behind a shaky offensive line next fall, he’s staying at Iowa State.
“We understand the opportunity and the enticement and the temptation could be there, but he’s finishing his degree,â€￾ Mike’s father, Curtis, said during a phone conversation Sunday with the Register.
“Our thing with Mike is if you make it to college, which he has, first and foremost, you’re going for an education. Finish that education, and then after that, if everything turns out right, then turn pro.â€￾

+/- is how the team performed when you played and didn't play. So it the team lost by two, but while you were on the court scores 40 points while giving up 30, you had a +/- of +10 because the team performed 10 points better than the other when you played.

Someone correct me if I'm wrong. I think it's a fairly newer stat as I don't remember it being talked about much a decade ago, and there's debate on how telling of a stat it actually is.

So the two guys on his team who had -10 & -6...that was bad, and the guy who had +13 on the other team was a real boost to his team? Georges had a 0.

Just for comparison, in the second game Uthoff had a -23 (8 pts on 3-12 shooting, 0 assists, 4 rebs, including an "Eliingsonlike" 0-5 from downtown).

Wow. Was Uthoff's -23 the lowest for the combine? Or did he ruin someone else's stats just because they came into the game with him?

The idea behind it says so, yes.

Personally, I feel it's a poor way to judge one particular player, but can be effective in judging certain lineups.

Yeah it's pretty meaningless based on one game, especially when the players have never played together before.
