Only surprise here is the CSU mention, although I know it has been mentioned in the past. The more I read the more I believe if the league goes to 12, we will be adding UConn and Cincy.

Those 4 schools don't move the needle. However if it can make the football schedule easier, figure out a way to make it happen.

Personally think BYU and Boise St. make more sense than CSU, I get that CSU has a huge alumni base, but Boise seems to be a hotter landing spot.

A few years ago, I thought I'd read BS had terrible academics.

I would have to think that if WVU had ANY influence, it would be UCONN/Cincy. Otherwise, their island gets even more isolated.

Are any of these schools even Big 12 worthy? CSU? Are they even division 1? Sounds like to me they are watering down the Big 12 with mid majors to get a championship game.

EDIT: MW is division 1 my bad.

Cinci and UCONN. UConn has academics, TV Sets, and is an elite when it comes to basketball. Football is so-so. But put UConn in the Big 12 and they definitely have potential to improve. IMO, UConn is a better option than Rutgers was for the Big Ten. BYU is a fading star IMO. And consider that the Big 12 might not want another Private Religious school in the Big 12 Membership. That could be a factor as well. UConn has the edge over BYU in so many things that I think that is the direction the Big 12 goes.

ick. why, why, why would BYU and UConn ever be in the same conference?

They won't be. It would be one or the other. I do not see us heading west for BYU. Pac 12 did not even want BYU and they would have been a better fit there.

BYU football-only easily is by any metric. Their AD as a whole is except comes with baggage.

The Sundays thing is a total non issue if they're football only. BYU's network is a bigger issue than Sundays if we're talking football only. The last thing we need is LHN issues compounded.

If not for the religious aspect Pac would have taken BYU over Utah and we'd be talking about Utah/CSU for expansion.

Wow. No mention of Memphis. Geography be damned.

Also no mention of Houston... I am sure Texas would veto that but has been discussed more than Colorado State recently up to now IMO.
I'd prefer to add out East if expansion happens, Cincy and UCONN giving WVU closer game partners.
I'd have to assume the plan for CSU would be a pairing with BYU to give a common time zone opponent it the committee moves out west.

I read the thread first... Thank god Boise wasn't actually one of the 4. Damn people!

I still like the 'ACC comes apart and we take our pick' future better than this one.
I suppose name wise, Cinci and Uconn aren't as bad as it could be.
