Knowing when to boo and when not to boo is the sign of a knowledgeable fan. Last night was the correct time to boo.

And they played the music for Heyward because they knew he didn't like it. It worked. They lowered his average to .191.

It's really just a smart move by an organization and fans to do what they did. Just didn't get it done with the bats last night.

Right...it's all just part of being the best fans in baseball. It was all designed to throw him off his game. Especially the part where some Card fans lobbed the n-bomb at Heyward. That was really a shrewd move.

Gotta know when to drop the n-bomb and when not to, don't do it when they're on your team, do it when they aren't, Card fans know this well.

No evidence of racial taunts which is strange because the NY Daily News reported it based on Twitter accounts who said they heard it through the TV broadcast... but none of the TV broadcasts had it when listened to afterward

I'm a Cubs fan but I've been impressed with the Cardinals pitching. If it wasn't for a botched double play on Monday night, there would be even less runs on the board for the Cubs.

Big time win for STL today. Could not afford to get swept and now just 3.0 GB in the Central. Worked through some adversity in the 8th inning as well. And Rosenthal strikes out the side for the save.

Now time for a couple West Coast series @ SD and @ ARI.

Diaz is great so far. Really helping with Peralta's absence.

If I got to put a lineup together right now, it would be:

Carpenter 3B
Hazelbaker LF
Diaz SS
Holliday 1B
Molina C
Piscotty RF
Gyorko 2B
Grichuk CF

Wong has been struggling but I think he will get it figured out and when that happens and Peralta comes back, middle infield will be really deep for this team.

4 games in 4 nights starting tomorrow in Arizona before coming back to STL.

Diaz leads all of baseball in batting average and leads all shortstops in Wins Above Replacement. He's great. Not sure why he's still hitting 8th everyday. Should be somewhere 3-5.

I feel like Hazelbaker and Piscotty are relatively interchangeable in the order. Neither of them is hot right now, unfortunately.

Gyorko is a really bad defender. Holy crap. And his bat usually isn't enough to make up for it (unlike Diaz).
