I have a friend's daughter that plays soccer at Whitewater They were one win from the final four over the weekend. This guy's record there is pretty good.

All of my Whitewater buddies would be thrilled. Not sure how I feel about it though. Thats quite a leap.

Hasn't whitewater been a powerhouse for a long long time? He basically just had to not screw it up

Interesting. I think coaching football is coaching football, so I don't undervalue those who have succeeded at a lower level (particularly when they have succeeded greatly).

I agree, I would just be curious of level of recruiting ties and coaching ties.

DIII wiscy school and one year at Buffalo.....:nah:

109-6 and 5 national titles is nothing to turn your nose up at, no matter what division.

I would question his ability to recruit D1 talent and handle a D1 program, but the guy is a winner.

His Buffalo team is currently (3-4) 5-6 and plays UMass this weekend for a chance to become bowl eligible. They were 5-6 last year before his arrival as well.

I don't have a problem going the MAC or even FCS head coach route, but I guess I'd like to see a little bit more experience at D-I than one year.

Can you even recruit at the D3 level? A quick glance at his roster from 2014 and I only see players from Wisconsin or Illinois. Going to need to cast a much larger net to compete in the Big 12.

No thanks. Recruiting would be a huge question mark.

I would be nervous of his recruiting ability unless he had some really awesome recruiters on staff. Most guys on his team are from Wisconsin and Illinois and it probably doesn't take much work to convince them to play at UW-W.

My philosophy is that successful people will be successful wherever they go. Successful people love a challenge. This is the same knock that Harbaugh had when he went to Stanford. He seemed to make it work OK.

I don't know how much stock to put into the few "leaks" we've gotten, but they do seem to indicate an emphasis toward dudes who have been head coaches at their level for more than a few years.
