That's great! Being a bye week, perhaps CPR can join you too, and maybe - oh yeah, I believe he's got some free time - Chizik could join in too for a round table chat...

Seriously, it'll be great to have you sit down with Mac! Give him our very best from Cyclone Nation!

Yes!

No doubt about it, Dan is going to win the second half of that interview. He's a tremendous, tremendous guy, real, real special. Dan gets that look in his eye and he inspires confidence, resiliency, passion, fortitude. No excuses, those are the facts. Real, real good dude. No doubt about it.

Gonne see if he's interested in the job next season?

(I seriously am kidding. Don't ask him that.)

"There's no doubt about it. Iowa State is very lucky to have Paul Rhoads as their coach"

"I like Paul. He's a good coach. They've had great effort, have been in every game and just have fallen a little short. Iowa State has great coaches and players, they just need to stay with the plan and they'll win their share of games."

I chuckle at the soundbites that you all are bringing back, but Dan has a much different tone behind closed doors. I'm sure Curt can tell some whoppers. My only time behind proverbial doors was at his house after the Missouri game, his final one. As Fennelly said after that, I was so hungover my hair hurt.

My favorite McCarney phrase that I ever observed at practice, "Would you guys quit being slap dicks."

McCarney has changed so much. Check out the video in the link. Dresses and talks like .....a WWE wrestler?

really? Seems like the same Mac I knew.

Funny story: 7 years after I graduated I was walking through the Memphis Airport on my way to catch a flight to OKC and I hear "Schroeds", I keep walking thinking to myself what the heck only people from football call me that and I don't know anyone down here, so I keep walking and I hear it again "Schroeds". So this time I acknowledge it and turn towards where I heard it and there is Mac sitting in a shoe shine chair getting his shoes shined. I stopped and talked to him a bit, but was absolutely floored that 7 years after I was done playing for him (and I was no Sage, Enis Haywood, or other big star on the team) he could still pick me out in a busy airport. Blows my mind.
