I really wonder why some people are listing Marcus Fizer as an apparently serious candidate. He was a stud at ISU, no two ways about it, but what had he done post-ISU to make people think he'd be a good coach?

There are others such as Grayer and so forth. Actually Between Fizer and Nurse I personally prefer Nurse.

The poll on wide right has Jeff Hornacek leading at 74% on 800+ votes right now....

Jamie, get ready to open up that checkbook sir.

No matter who JP hires, it will be met with some sort of negative response. Even Freds hire was highly questioned. We won't really know just how good of a coach he hires until this seasons team is gone.

If your Pollard and Leath, you have to put the full-court press on Hornacek as Head Coach!! If he accepts, make a stipulation in the contract that T.J. stays.. Would 3 million a season be enough to lure Hornacek do you think? Hornball will make us forget about Hoiball!

Yeah pay the man. I don't feel that Hornaceck is interested. Maybe I am wrong. The thing about Hornaceck is he seems to be a very intelligent basketball man. Maybe too intelligent. I am trying to attract a guy to replace the next coach. Without Floyd LE proly doesn't come here. Aside from his drinking issues LE was the closest thing to Thibedeau there is out there. And he was a genious at times on the court. Id love OTZ to get a shot. But he isn't as sexy (basketball-wise) as some of the guys out there.

If OTZ gets hired, I worry about the program long-term. I am not doubting he is a good recruiter, I just want to see how well he does the X's and O's.. I really would like to see Hornacek as head coach. He is no doubt, the BEST option.

I don't know if he's interested, but he definitely didn't shoot anything down when he was interviewed today.

I feel pretty confident that Hornacek is jockeying for an extension with the Suns and has 0% interest in being our next coach. You guys are setting yourself up for disappointment but that's on you, not JP.

And I don't care. At least check it out and see where it goes.

Otz wouldn't be in consideration if Fred and Jaime didn't think he could coach on game day. If that's who Jaime hires I'm fine with it.

So as of yesterday afternoon no contact yet with Hornacek by search committee /service, or ISU. More and more I am told, sounds like he would consider an offer but ultimately if the Suns came in and offered an extension, he would stay. Cannot emphasize though how much he does not relish the thought of getting in the swamp that is recruiting, that is why the offer needs to be a significant one.

Edit: The person I know is a Hornacek family member I have worked with a long time. I promised the guy I would not bug him this weekend unless Fred thing came official. :)
So probably will not have much new news til Monday.

True...but they should have been interested to at least talk if TJ was interested. You'd think Fred and JP have enough casual contact to have been able to get him in the room.

I know nothing about TJ. However, the way this Fred situation is playing out I no longer trust Fred's judgement...

I don't get this line of thought. If one side or the other isn't interested and makes it clear to the other party that is the case then what's the point. People need to open their ears to the itks here and in the media nothing is as cut and dry as people want it to be.
