Meet the Next Davis.

The next time you're driving on the Florida Turnpike on a saturday afternoon and want to see a future star take exit 20 and your destination will be West Kendall Dolphins Park.

Miami Extreme Youth Football finest 8th grade running back Darren Davis the past two seasons has reached the endzone over 40 times and accumlated just under 4,000 all-purpose yards. If the name Darren Davis ring a bell and these type of stats sound familiar to you, well it is not by coincidence. Darren is the son of Parade All-American, Miami Southridge running back Darren Davis and nephew of Jason and Troy Davis.

His uncle, Troy Davis was named USA Today Florida Player of the Year at Miami Southridge and rushed for 2,000-yards twice at Iowa st. Darren Davis diplays good speed, power, tackle Breaking ability and excellent change of direction.

Before arriving to West Kendall Dolphins, Darren Davis helped Greater Miami Pop Warner Palmetto Raiders Jr. Pee Wee (105lb) team to the Sean Taylor Classic. Darren has already been named to West Kendall Dolphins Club Hall of Fame and for two consective years named to So. Florida youth football heisman watch.

Darren is without a question the best overall athlete in the Miami Exteme Youth Football League and my Top running back in Southwest Miami-Dade County. The real question is whether Darren Davis Jr follow father footsteps and attend Miami Southridge next fall. Remember the name Darren Davis for class of 2018

Re: 2018 Recruit

Darren Jr. got to play on ESPN the other day in the Midget National Championship Semifinal. I didn't get to watch so I'm not sure how he did, but I know he scored at least one TD. He will be freshman next year. Might be nice if CPR got in on him early. Kid is gonna be good. Get Troy and Darren up to a game next year. They have been waiting for CPR to invite them up.

Re: 2018 Recruit

I was easily the fastest player and led our metro league in TD's and rushing yards in Jr. High... By the time I was a senior in HS I was as average as it gets. Too early.

Re: 2018 Recruit

Helps that both Darren and Troy went to ISU but I don't think it helps our cause that despite the back to back seasons Troy had he still got snubbed for the Heisman to Danny Wuerffel. If Troy would have put up the numbers that he did at a school like Texas or Florida he probably wins it IMO. If I am as big of a prospect as it sounds like this kid has the potential to be, that factor would have to stand out in my mind.

Glad to see the thread. Always like hearing about the next generations of past Cyclone athletes. The Davis' were fun to watch.

Re: 2018 Recruit

If Paul doesn't offer him he's an idiot. I'm pretty sure Paul coached Troy when he played here for at least a small time.
