Gawd no; anybody but those schools. If I had my preference it would love to see Arkansas and Mizzou; heck, I'd even take Nebby back.

You think anyone would ever leave the SEC? Your nuts if you think that would happen.

gimme BYU. The Big 12 would have Mormons, Baptists, and Christians. We would be missing the Methodists from SMU but 3 out of 4 is pretty good.

Also, if the Big 12 did add Cincy Tommy. Tuberville would be back in the Big 12 after leaving TT.

I would also take Cincy.

BYU i would avoid so you don't have 3 time zones covered. I think you have to stay in the CST and EST.

If they go North/South - could make football a bit easier???

No idea how credible this site is, but it sure looks like it might be a done deal.

BCSNN Will Post New Realignment Article Every 30 Days to Generate Interest

This is written the same way Chip Brown and TheDude wrote Big XII death articles. I find it very hard to believe Bowlsby would be willing to add two more mouths to feed like this.

I think if we land a team in the playoff or not will be telling of if this is possible.

OK i didn't read the whole thread but sign me up for four noncon games!

Won't happen, Pac 12 plays 9 conf games, Big XII does, B1G has a plan to be at 9 in the next few years. Even if the conference adds 2 members we aren't going back to 4 non-cons.

For those who think divisions would help our football program, remember we lose the ability to tell Texas recruits they're guaranteed to play in their home state every year.

Not sure how bad that'd be, but it is a con.

If we're dropping down to an add like Memphis, I think Tulane would be better. Much better school, brand new stadium, big TV market, more recruiting opportunities. Memphis makes no sense.

Cincy makes sense given that WVU is kind of out on their own geographically right now.

Not a problem. If Memphis and Cinnci would somehow be added, it's doubtful that UT/OU/BU/TCU/OSU would settle for beating each other up in the "South" division while the "North" division plays tiddleywinks with each other...

Probably not. We still likely play 3 or 4 games against the Big 12 South which would include Baylor, Texas, TTU and TCU. That would mean 2, if not 3 games against a Texas school each year and more than likely 1 or 2 actually in Texas.

We wouldn't play their 2 times every year like we do now, but we'd still play their once a year.

Like who? The big12 already messed up by not getting Louisville. There are no good teams left that can be poached out of their current conferences. In the end there might only be 4 conferences left and the big12 needs to add.

Uconn and byu much better adds financially but not geographically. Byu Cincinnati could be ok too or Cincinnati-Uconn but Memphis?

This makes me sick - our conference has the best set up for football and basketball. We play everyone in FB and everyone twice in BB. No bull **** because you get to skip certain teams (al a Iowa's schedule) a TRUE champion. We're gonna give this up all for a stupid Conf Championship Game??? .....funny, I don't remember the pundits ever complaining about not having a CCG when the B10 didn't have one. In fact, they were admired because they didn't knock each other out for the national championship game.

$$$ for a conference game the goes to pay Cincy and memphis.

From a Big 12 perspective, i don't believe they need to add 2 teams and have a championship game. It won't hurt them often in the playoff picture.

From a $$$ perspective, adding 2 schools will most likely reduce the money Iowa State gets.

From a football perspective, this would be ideal for Iowa State. Even if they still played 12 conference games, this would add 2 more potential teams that aren't power houses. Maybe they'd get unlucky and have a rough schedule for a year or 2, but they'd also get an easier schedule from time to time. Any money Iowa State loses due to splitting things 12 ways more than 10 ways might be offset by more success in the football program.

How nice would this schedule look.
UNI
Iowa
Toledo
Kansas
Texas Tech
Kansas State
West Virginia
Memphis
Cincinnati
Texas
Baylor
Oklahoma State

The could split the divisions this way:
Northwest
ISU
KSU
KU
OU
OSU
Texas Tech

Southeast
WVU
Cincinnatti
Memphis
Baylor
Texas
TCU

I would be excited about this but it sounds like I'm in the minority.

I'm with you. Who knows if there are any legs to this story, but if the big 12 were ever to expand, it would be more realistic with 2 teams like Memphis and Cincinnati than some of the ideas thrown out here. No team from the $EC would ever leave to go to the Big 12. That's just stupid. I doubt a team from Florida ever gets invited/joins the big 12 either. BYU--no way, no how. Cin and Mem are both in big markets currently not covered in the big 12. And nothing would happen if it wasn't financially beneficial to the existing members (Texas).

A) I don't think we are adding Cincy or Memphis
B) if this did happen would the B12 be ballsy enough to set up a conference schedule that pushed teams toward the playoff. Say a weird pod system.
So there would be 4 pods.
East - WVU, Cincy, Memphis
North - KSU, ISU, OU
West - OU, OSU, TT
South - UT, TCU, BU

2 games against your pod rivals
6 games against other pods, So first year East vs North and West, North vs East and South, West vs East and South, South vs North and West.
1 game versus the team in the pod you didn't play with the equal place to you. So first year East vs South and West vs North.

Championship game winner of the games of E1vsS1 Vs W1N1

Granted that last game of the year wouldn't be known until the end of the first 8 games, I think it would help keep the interest in the conference.
