FYI... we have several owners, of which I am one. The account just happened to be in my partner's name. What's with all the assumptions on this topic? So friendly.

Probably because in your original post you said you WORK for a company that donates money. Not that you OWN or are a Part owner of a company that donates money. There is a huge difference in the 2.

I have always received notification via email of my season ticket purchases for both football and basketball. I have never had an issue with the ticket office, and on a few occasions when I was there in person, I witnessed the front line cashiers showing the patience of Job with self-important customers who were extremely rude to them.

Please keep in mind that yesterday was the first day they were open after the win over UNC. None of us knew we would be moving on. EVERYONE is in a rush to get their tickets. There are many of us and few of them. Seeing your screen name, your comments and your responses, "DugDaThug", I think there are probably two sides to this story, and the only one we are hearing is highly biased.

One more thought: Money may get you many things, but it rarely buys manners.

You don't personally have season tickets but think your bosses donations make you a special little snowflake?

Good luck with that attitude, Dug.

This kind of snowflake?

Really disappointed in this thread. The OP has a general ticket question and people drew some assumptions they didn't need to. How about we just help out a Cyclone fan and give him an actual answer?

Last year when I got tickets to Dayton, it took a while before my card was charged. I got a little anxious too, but everything ended up going as smooth as they said it would. Hope everything works out for you and you have fun in NYC!

I was wondering if anyone else has had weird vibes getting tickets to NYC through ISU on Monday. I work for a company that donates $$$ to ISU and are season ticket holders. We called to get some tix to NYC games. On the phone they were rushed, rude and a bit obtuse. Our company has one person who is the contact for our corporate account with ISU. Initially they said he was the only person who could buy the tickets and that he must be the one to pick them up in NYC-- he's not going to NYC... I am. After escalating to a supervisor, we were eventually given permission to buy the tickets under my name with my credit card.

Two days later, not one dime has left my bank account. They said they would only call if there was a problem (no call, thank goodness). They didn't know how much the tickets would be exactly (200, 250 or 295), and didn't know sections of MSG we would be sitting in. Every question I asked was answered in such a way that I could tell I was ******* them off.

My biggest fear is I get to NYC and can't get the tickets I thought I purchased.

I'm shocked they don't have a better way to notify people, give seats assignments, receipts, etc.

Anyone have any insight or similar experience?

D

Hey, OP, I feel for you. I am truly baffled at the incredible rudeness and ignorance of so many people attacking you for no reason. Totally unwarranted conclusions about your story. Give the guy the benefit of the doubt, people. So much for 'cyclone family.'

I called ticket office yesterday to order tickets, and twice today to change my order. Despite them being swamped, they were very polite and accommodating to me. Best news is I have tickets!!!

Did the ticket office sell out of all 900 or so tickets for the Cyclone Club? I haven't seen anything saying they had. Would love to call and order myself some, but I'm not a season-ticket holder.

I am a season ticket holder for both basketball and football have been for many years now. I have had some problems with tickets in the past (all because of my error not the ticket office) and I can not tell you how accommodating the staff at the ticket office has been. Even when the initial person was unable to resolve my issue because it was "above their pay grade" and I was passed on to a supervisor, they went ABOVE and BEYOND to solve the problem. Maybe it's because I WAS the actual donor and was able to prove that.

To the OP, I would say it makes sense that the ticket office would have some reservations about your request. As a neutral observer, I too would have had some red flags. I certainty wasn't a part of your conversation, but I will say that you catch more bees with honey than vinegar.

You know, any difficulties faced in dealing with the Ticket Office might be related to the incredibly difficult task that they have in dealing out tickets to the team, staff, and donors while not being given definitive information from the NCAA on tickets. I can't imagine being in that situation. I suspect the situation of the OP was a vortex of doom in which his special request (demand?) met the uncertainty of the ticket situation itself.

See the different responses to the special request about the movie. He came in humble and polite. That thread went beautifully, even if there was a limited range of things people could do to help. People were willing to try.

See this guy's OP where he comes off as the classic bad customer who makes sure to complain loudly while ignoring all the holes in his own story. Different response.
