Other than Flip, the vast majority of head coaches at the Timberwolves only last a few years. Rick had wanted a 5 year/ 5 million dollar contract, but Mary Kay’s history of seizures has resulted in him missing a number of games and makes it difficult to focus on basketball. Rick has been candid about his frustration with the team. However, if he does retire at age 68 next year, history tells us there will be another opening in the not to distant future after the twins have graduated. Enough said!

I doubt it since Love will be leaving for the Lakers soon. Love is the ideal power forward for Fred, but he ain't gonna be a round for long.
if he wanted to be the head coach of the Timberwolves, don't you think he would have taken a different path than coming to Iowa State. After all, he was already in their organization.

Not wanting to read this very long thread. Can anyone tell me just how exactly it was said, or how it was brought up? Heck our own players could have been watching the Baylor game at that time. These guys shouldn't get by with saying this crap on the air during Big12 games during our season.
