Against KU's Embid I could understand but OU's Sprangler? They guy will not drop 20+ and the threes are killing us just like at KU. Need to stop and play 1 on 1

Agree 100%. Spangler has absolutely zero post game, and apparently Buddy freaking Hield doesn't miss against us.

I agree that the double teaming was not working great. Running a second defender at Spangler is more about forcing turnovers and staying out of foul trouble, but it was too predictable today to work. They need to work at running defenders from different spots or delaying a little so the post player doesn't see it coming.

I think Fred does this to protect the post players from foul trouble. It seemed we did less of it in the second half.

yes because you know so much more about bball than CF

Excellent contribution to the conversation. Can't people post their personal thoughts about our team without these sort of responses? We get it, none of us are Fred Hoiberg and don't know as much as he does.

Yeah, you're probably right. I just don't know that a double was needed against OU. The way OU beats you is Spangler rebounding and Hield hitting 3s. Not that their other players aren't good, but if you stop Spangler on the boards and Hield from 3, it's an easy win. The last thing you do is double off of Hield....not that ISU did, they just got caught rotating. If we play them again, I'd like to see FH be a little more selective with the double...just don't do it every time. And if we're not in foul trouble in the second half, play them straight up. I think that Ejim and Niang can handle Spangler one on one if they can avoid fouling

The defense on hield was just awful today, I can't believe we couldn't find him

First time we played OU this season Spangler had 16 pts and 15 boards. We lost by 5.

This time he had 8 pts and 12 boards. We won by 6.

So, let's tally that up, he got 8 less points and three less boards and we won by six instead of losing by 5.

I suppose it might have made some difference.

I thought our defense was great today. We gave up almost nothing inside or on drives to the basket. Almost all Oklahoma's points were from jump shots. They made a ton of long contested 2 point jump shots. Those are shots you want the other team to take,
