I love how we want coaches to be less robotic/speak their mind/etc but when they do, people kill them for it.

I'm all for less PC coaches. I miss Eustachy's press conferences. But unwarranted trash talk to a coach who has been in the profession 16 years longer than you? Not needed.
arrogant millionaire coaches who take themselves too seriously always warrants trash talk. this is rivalry/college sports, not brain surgery.
That's why we want them to speak their minds - so we can hang them with their words after. Too much fun.
It seems as if you are part for it. I have zero problem with this comment. It was factually correct and if it backfires, it's coming at him. That's a way better comment than say, throwing your players under the bus, even if it's true.
I just saw that he made these comments to a small group of boosters. Not as big of a deal. I thought he had made them in a PC when asked questions by reporters. Still not a fan. I get what he's trying to do though. USC has not been good in basketball, his name and brand is starting to quiet, so make some comments that will stir the pot and get people talking about you again.
Normally I'd say what a **** but since he's taking a shot at Alford, who truly is the world's biggest *** hole, I think it's awesome.
