Screw-job by the refs or not, it would have never gotten to that point if we just bat-down the hail mary at the end of the 1st half.

Yeah, there are lots of "what ifs" in a game, but that Hail Mary really is a very big dagger...we can control that, not a refs whistle.

That and it's 2nd @ 1 inside the 5 and we can't get the 1st down and have to kick the FG to only go up 6. Then of course the numerous P.I. penalties.

No, that was too early in the game to cost us. The one that cost us was the replay official refusing to overturn the fumble. It was clear George got it and there was no early whistle. It is so typical, if it was reversed Texas gets the ball. Simple.

And we made up for that on the field to be up by 6 points when something out of our control (the ref's payoffs) prevented us from winning.

Texas was smart and burnt us bad when Watson got hurt and had to leave the game. We waited to long before we made adjustment with Tribune.

All we had to do was score a td instead of the last fieldgoal and the refs are a moot point. We had the opportunity to put the game away and didn't. Everything after that changes if we just finish the job and get the sealing td.

This is true it was a poor effort. Put ourselves in a whole and made mistakes every time we battled back.

Somewhat to be expected from a young team. Still really frustrating.

This is true. 1981 called.....and it wants its Redskin Smurf corners back. Our corners looked like they do not understand what referees will and will not call penalties. Tackling a reciever without looking at the ball is a penalty...there free coaching. Sad. But, CPR, you got to recruit better corners that are taller than 5'-7". It is like McCarney all over again. And the reason I have little empathy is the jawwing and smack talking that was so apparent from our guys......so boring and lame. Ug.
