Collin Bevins to NWMSU

Here's what Collin's NFL opportunity now consists of.....

Playing in a stadium that seats 6,500 people. Just for reference, West Des Moines Valley's football stadium is bigger than that. 8,000 fans went to watch Iowa practice at West Des Moines Valley.

And here was NWSU's schedule last year....

East Central (Oklahoma)
Central Missouri
Fort Hays State
Nebraska-Kearney
Northeastern State
Central Oklahoma
Pittsburg State
Missouri Southern
Washburn
Emporia State
Missouri Western

Wow. Now nothing will prepare one better for the NFL than going up against those teams. Oklahoma and Texas have nothing on Emporia State.

I really didn't want to have to go down this road, but when someone comes on here and tries to equate playing football at NWSU with playing at ISU and then says their opportunity at getting to the NFL is not hurt by making this move, then I feel they have to be set straight somewhat.

Funny how those that have NFL talent get their shots years after year playing such a schedule. Those crazy NFL GMs. You copy/paste a schedule to set things straight. And the scouts keep coming. The point is opportunity. Not schedule. Where does your expertise spring from?

Now, I'm wondering if NoJustice is a troll, bored, and/or compulsive. He has moved past defending Bevins/NWMSU and on to attacking ISU players. Likely sign of a troll.

Just responding in the same vein. Maybe not to you specifically, but to some who attack what they know nothing about. Not all that fun to read such things is it.

My remembrance of the now defunct article was he didn't like his teammates and coaches at ISU but found the new ones that he has hardly spent any time with like family. Seems like he shouldn't have mentioned ISU teammates at all if he had nothing good to say. It has been over a month though so I don't remember much other than thinking it was unwise.

That is not accurate. A paraphrase that is not accurate.

"To some that attack" were paying for Collin's tuition, housing, food, etc. They have a right to be disappointed and not trust him after his misleading information.

If you are truly defending Collin/NWMSU, you aren't helping, but are probably making matters worse.

If you are trolling, you will get bored, ignored, or banned in short order.

Mods, can I get a special dispensation to cuss without being censored?

Who....f#$king...cares? Weeks ago, dude decided to leave. He's not here, don't care why, since it won't make him come back. I wish it would have worked out, but I wish him no ill will on account of the fact that I don't know the guy. I find it hard to hate anyone who I've never met. NoJustice dude (or dudette) feels like defending the reputation of the D2 school he's transferring to and drags it up almost 3 weeks since anyone has said peep about it here. Do you argue with any random dude on the street? No.

NoJustice: You've made about as much point as you can make. NWMSU is not the bad news bears of college football...okay, we'll admit it. But this is Cyclone Fanatic...you're not likely to get much sympathy for how underappreciated your school is. We've been kicked around and have lived thru some of the most brutal years of watching teams get beat by 20, 30, 40 points or more, and yet, we didn't root for our team to go to a lower level and compete quicker. NWMSU is a serious player at the D2 level, congrats on that, and I mean that seriously. But at ISU, we choose to compete against some of the best programs in the country and we fought tooth and nail to continue that when there were people who said we didn't belong in this realignment mess.

First, anyone leaving our program isn't our best bud right off the top. Someone who leaves to play a lower level of competition just goes against something in our DNA. Do I wish the guy any ill will? No. Will I outright call him a wimp? No. But do I laud his courage for making this difficult decision? :biglaugh: Heck no.

You're not going to make much more point here than you already have. The fact that you're so vehemently defending NWMSU's program on this forum is on one hand commendable for your passion, and laughable in the futility in fighting fights that won't be won and wouldn't be for much use if they could be.

Let's all do everyone a favor and drop this silliness.

If you honestly believe that someone playing at NWSU against teams like Fort Hays State has the same NFL opportunities versus someone playing at a Big 12 school on national TV most weeks, then I guess I won't be able to convince you otherwise. You live on a different planet.

By coming on here tonight and posting in this thread, you are not helping Collin one bit. ISU fans had moved on from this. Were we disappointed, yes. But we had gotten over it. It kinda stunk when Collin said he didn't get along well with the coaches and teammates, yet he decided on NWSU in like a week or something? Boy, he sure did get along fast with them I guess? Interesting.

Needless to say... you aren't helping Collin's case tonight. We had forgotten all about it. But you brought it back to light tonight. And there's really nothing you can say that will make it look like a great decision, other than he just likes it there better. That's fine. But don't act like the competition is just as good and that their league puts just as many players in the NFL as the Big 12 does. That's just complete BS and you know it.

If he truly wants to go to the NFL, then leave ISU and go to Texas, Oklahoma, or Alabama. But don't go to NWSU. That's not your best opportunity to get to the NFL.

Maybe Collin doesn't want to put all the work in that's needed at an ISU? Maybe he wants to play football AND enjoy school life too, and realized it was going to be hard to do that at ISU with all the time that's required of you to play football? Who knows what the real reason is? And who really cares? But don't pretend that he went to NWSU to get to the NFL. That's BS.

Just because Bevins was listed as a starter coming out of spring does not automatically mean he was going to make the NFL. The kid has played exactly 0 minutes of college ball at any level.

As for NOJustice, he is either a close friend/family member of Bevins, or is Bevins himself. The kid left, most people if not all people got over it rather quickly, and moved on. No reason for this thread to be brought back to life. He is an 18-19 year old kid who made a decision he thought was best for him. Move on.

Probably not helping. But stating only facts. Not half truths or speculations. I have attended so many ISU games I could not count. It is not attacking ISU, though many will receive it as such. It is responding specifically to things said in this thread that is inaccurate, mischaracterizations, and some blatantly false.

We get it. You like NWSU and feel Collin still has a chance at making the NFL there. Fine. Even if his NFL chances are less there, he still has a chance. I agree with that.

We also know that Collin left the coaches hanging by quitting on them in late June. That is a fact. We also know he made comments to the affect that he didn't fit in with the coaches and players at ISU very well and it wasn't a "family" atmosphere like he hoped. Fine. But it is strange that he felt after about a week that he fit in really well at NWSU and it was a "family" atmosphere too. After one week he concluded that?

Were some things said in poor taste on here regarding Collin's quitting the team.... yes. But this is an ISU fan website. I'm not sure what you were expecting? We lost a possible 4 year starter at one of the toughest positions on the football field to recruit. And not only that, he choose NWSU over ISU. That is not something that is going to be taken too kindly on an ISU site. Sorry. That's just the way it is. NWSU fans would be ticked at him too if he left them I'm sure. That's just what happens.

Get some thick skin and deal with it and move on. ISU fans had moved on, until you brought it up again tonight.

Since you're still trying, I'ma consider you a troll and treat you as such. Above in bold: FIFY. The correct grammar in that usage would be "are", not is, and using 'and some' rather than 'or' is just awkward. I wouldn't expect much more from someone from Missouri with a D2 education.

(seriously, just give up and say that you've done what you could and leave it at that)

I agree. But. Read 11 pages of comments containing items that deserve rebuttal. I am not Bevins, nor a member of his family. Never met the kid or a member if his family. Just a person defending Northwest football by simply stating some context of the program to respond to those who know very little about what they say to demean it. You would do the same.

LOL. I was about ready to say the same to you. I get your view. I do. I am not expecting anything more than what I got. I am just responding to things said. It's all good. It's off my chest.
