I'm kind of looking at it like this, until I'm given reason to think otherwise:
2012 Tech >> 2011 Tech
2012 ISU >> 2011 ISU

2011 ISU >>>>>> 2011 Tech

So,

2012 ISU >> 2012 Tech

This logic is exactly what I mean by casual fans, and by that logic I've stated multiple times I completely see why the casual ISU fan thinks they'll win big.

ttuadvisor... I would suggest giving up. There is no way that we can prove that our team is superior to the past two versions until we go all 2006 on them again. Until then, we can agree to disagree.

Like I've said, I fully expect casual ISU fans to think this will be an easy win for you guys based on last years game. Only thing I've done is given you some facts about where Texas Tech is at this year and allowed you to draw your own conclusion. I think if you do your homework you'll come away understanding that this is a much improved Tech team, but I don't blame the casual ISU fan for thinking it's an easy win and writing Tech off before the game. Any Tech fan that does that toward ISU is a fool.

I think you need to go back and do your homework on the mind of ISU fans. I think most fans are expecting this to be a close game based on the way our offense and defense plays. I don't think anyone is expecting a game like last year. The reason that most think ISU will win is because ISU it is at home. Yeah we have had Tech's number the last 2 years, but that doesn't really play into my expectation for a win this year. I could honestly see TT win this game and the only thing that would really surprise me is if ISU has no TOs and TT wins by 30.

I will give you that Tech has looked impressive in their wins but they have played cupcakes while ISU has been challenged in 2 of 3 of its games. If the game is close will Tech be able to handle the pressure or will they crack? ISU has come from behind and been able to hold off a team driving in the 4th quarter. Has TT really been exposed of their weaknesses by their opponents? Everyone here knows that ISU has had problems with turnovers and sometimes falls asleep on offense, but what do we really know about TT?

We are Iowa State, we simply do not expect wins.

Here's how I see it.

Tech- Worst basketball program in conference.
Tech- 2nd worst football program in conference (at least last year).

ISU- middle of Big 12 in conference.
ISU- below average but better then Tech in conference.

Read it and weep trolls.

So now all of a sudden you went from having an awful Dline last year to having the best in 15 years? I'm sorry but I'm going to question stupid **** like that. That's where you lose all credibility.

You clearly have no clue about our injury situation last year or our recruiting.

Fail.

There is literally no where to go but up for our defense, we finished dead last the previous season.

Your post didn't say that you had the worst rushing defense, it said worst defense and Kansas had a far worse overall defense. One partial stat does not encompass the whole defense. Total yards and total scoring are far more accurate thermometers of a defense than just rushing defense. A team could be last in rushing defense and first in passing defense and middle of the pack in scoring defense - would that make them still the worst defense in the land?

Well, at least you're basing your football ratings on one season. That usually makes for excellent analysis.

Let it go, man.

Until you post something along the line of, "You cyclones have a far superior program to ours in every sense. We should fall upon our knees and thank the maker that we are allowed to play upon the hallowed ground that is Jack Trice Stadium. We are not worthy!"... you are going to get nothing but grief from these guys. Let it go!

Tech fans know all about scratching and clawing for a minute amount of respect. Texas Tech is the most underrated programs in Big 12 history. Preseason Picks Evaluated | Pistols Firing (ISU is 3rd)

This analysis really doesn't tell you anything if it doesn't look at how much teams were under/over the preseason media predictions. They say Tech was under picked ten years to 8 to K-State and ISU. But by how much? If you are picked 4th and finish 3rd that is a lot different than being picked 10th and finishing 3rd. Even the limited analysis shows that Tech is the only school that has never finished more than three places off of the preseason rankings.

A much better analysis would be took look at the average difference between pre-season expectations and final standing.

Yeah, I'm about there. All you can really do is just provide the facts and allow people to draw their own conclusions. Some people only want to see it one way, and that's fine, it's their board. Just hope they're hospitable and willing to eat some crow if Tech fans turn out to be spot on next Saturday.

From what i have seen so far, most raider fans are making their analysis from 3 cupcake games vs. teams i have never heard of. I bet we could score a bunch on Southern Georgia Technical Institute and Seminary School's intrimural flag football runner ups also.

Alright. We got your "facts" (30 times...). So, see you after the game. Bye!

Oh, I have my "crow-eating" post ready.

Future Doc said:
We would've whooped them if we didn't make mistakes. We were obviously looking ahead to TCU. This game was a much bigger game for TTU than us. Clearly ISU is still the better team. Also, the refs sucked

I don't think anybody but the most stubborn are assuming a victory/blowout based on last year. We just remain skeptical of this massive improvement that so many TTU fans seem to think makes them the clear favorite in this game. All you can point to is a new DC, routs over cupcakes, and recruiting rankings. Those three things add up to very little real evidence that Tech has improved that much more than ISU from 2011. The highest ranked WR I can remember coming to ISU was one of the biggest annual disappointments on the team every year he was here. Okie State layed 84 points on a team and then lost to Arizona. Your new DC hasn't faced an offense worth a damn to prove he's actually made that much of a difference yet. That's all we're saying.

Memo to FutureDoc: Really hope you do not have to repeat the Nebraska crow, "without those eight turnovers, we would have killed you."
